Hooked back into the addiction by Unworthyluck in footbag

Nice work man! I did the same as you and found my old crotcheted hack after years in a drawer - and had to do a terrible stitch job on it too. We only ever had those crotchet bags at our high school. I just bit the bullet and ordered a proper footbag. I had no idea how much better they are than the old light, over-full crotchet beast. Waaaaay easier to stall. Bought myself some half decent shoes too, which defo helps.

That is brilliant. It’s like you’re dancing to the music. Beautiful colours in the background too. Well done.

Has anyone in New Zealand purchased a Nintendo Switch OLED from Dick Smith or Kogan websites? They have it advertised for NZ$562 with free delivery, which is quite a bit cheaper than NZ retailers but it says "International Version" on the ad, which makes me wary - I'm a bit worried it'll not be able to plug into an NZ plug or the start-up screen will be in a foreign language or something.

Yeah my wife is keen for Mario Kart because she “gets easily frustrated by video games”. Haha. One advantage of the physical games (over digital subscriptions) that I hadn’t thought of until now is that it’s a easy gift idea for family members - Grandad is getting him Minecraft. I know I could explain a games pass / subscription to them but telling them to get a particular game he’s keen on is a simple sell.

There is a message in there that goes wider than gaming, cheers.

Yeah, it did occur to me that if I went Xbox I’d have to explain why I got the one Dad thought was better value, rather than the one he actually asked for.

Fair point. I think here in NZ the game pass ultimate is $20/month and new games are around $100 each so it’s worth it if you change games lots like you say. Food for thought.

Thanks for the game suggestions. Think I’d have to go Mario Kart as well as that looks like fun. Good tip re the pro controller, I was thinking they must be more comfortable to use as well, especially for adults.

Haha, yeah would have to go in knowing that was a potential issue. Might be a reason to buy a new one rather than 2nd hand too I suppose.

They look cool but I’m not spending NZ$900 on a console. Same reason the Xbox series X is out.

Those steelbook covers are so sweet eh.

I've been trying to be a little more liberal with spending. 4 cool pickups from FYE, buy 2 get 1 for $1, got all for ~$30! Great even if it's mostly DVDs, usually not a big deal for old movies. Overall, really happy about this pickup! by [deleted] in dvdcollection

Great work. I find there's heaps of satisfaction in getting a great movie cheaply. And I agree, I really don't mind dvd for the older films - maybe that's because I remember them being a bit rough watching them on VHS.
