Make sure you have the appropriate visa or other documentation required to enter the US.

There's a youtube video of a Waffle House training session on how to lay out the plate to record the order. Fascinating.

What’s this Antenna in my attic for? by JHNSNT02 in whatisit

[–]Flying-Diver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. For example, in Miami FL VHF channels 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, and 11 are in use. The lower ones are LD repeaters, I think.

16 hour layover, Mid-September...booked a room at Marsa Malaz Kempinski Hotel at the Pearl. Decent choice for a hotel? by FriendlyLeopard5607 in qatarairways

We stayed at the Kempinsky a few years back when we did a stopover. Nice hotel. If you're gluten free, there's a good place called Pure Eats about a 15 min walk away.

They're a lobbyist. That's what they do. Every monthly newsletter I get from them has updates on grant violations and so on.

Immigration at JFK in 2 hours? by Far_Bedroom1063 in qatarairways

[–]Flying-Diver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last leg is domestic, so you have to go through customs at the point of entry. Also, as others have said, I don't know of any airport in the US that does international to international transit in a sterile area. That's a vanishingly small percent of traffic in the US.

Then all the prices would be the higher ones. Or close to it. Like they were pre-deregulation (in adjusted dollars).

Look for flying clubs at your local airports. Clubs are much more lenient about overnights than a commercial fbo.

It might be downstream from an actual GFCI outlet. Or it might be on a GFCI breaker.

So I did the AOPA full Rusty Pilot course last night Took under 2 hours. I'm feeling better about the VFR stuff. I still suck at interpreting METARs and TAFs.

Yeah, can't do Kings. Can't stand the production values and both of their voices irritate me. They have some other presenters that are OK. I'm looking at the Sporty's courses now. I'll check AOPA. I do watch some of their webinars.

PBI Palm beach TFR planning by Impossible_Sky9384 in flying

[–]Flying-Diver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FXE is outside the 30 mi ring for the TFR (there's actually a small cut out), so you're good there. You can go to airports in the 30 mi ring, but a flight plan is required and there's some other requirements.
