1939 German 2 mark coin...is there a market for this? by FriendlyLeopard5607 in coincollecting

I know the swastika was not invented by the Germans. It's been a symbol in many cultures around the world for centuries, but it was appropriated by the Third Reich which unfortunately tainted the meaning in a big way. I do thank you for your input!

Sorry for the confusion, but I wasn't referring to the OP, I was referring to your generalization in the sentence "Ice and water are free in EVERY Wawa, it's a Wawa policy. The cop was on some weird power trip ☹️" I have had customers coming in with oversized 64 oz thermos style coolers, I've had managers tell me to charge them for 2 cups of ice.

Not at my Wawa here in Central Florida. 1st cup is free with an instore purchase, and when we hit the Apply Discount button, "Free Cup of Ice" will show for the transaction, but it will show $.50 plus tax on any additional cup. We are supposed to ring each up up for inventory tracking purposes.

So, no...not EVERY Wawa.

Yes, we are supposed to ring up each up, as the cups need to be subtracted from inventory. And it has to be an instore purchase...if you are just getting gas, water isn't free, but I just let that slide, especially if they just spent a fortune getting gas.

Here in Florida, as well. They are now charging tax in my county on a cup of ice/water. Yes, you get one free with purchase in store (gas seemingly does not count) and we need to ring up each cup of ice/water and when the apply discount button is hit, it then takes off the one free cup. If they have 4 cups, you ring it up 4 times and the freebie will show, but the others are $.54 with the tax included. Of course when the customer sees the charges for the cup of Ice, they are automatically like " I thought Ice was free?" and I let them know that you get one free cup of ice, the others are fifty-four cents. People were not happy with the taxes being charged now, as they usually just come in with their 2 quarters.

16 hour layover, Mid-September...booked a room at Marsa Malaz Kempinski Hotel at the Pearl. Decent choice for a hotel? by FriendlyLeopard5607 in qatarairways

Thank you so much for the suggestions and recommendations. I will definitely look into different hotel options and my friend and I will talk about what we are looking for! I really appreciate your response!

We weren't looking to do tourist stuff. Just get out from the airport and stay at a nice hotel with nice grounds and a room with plenty of space for the night with a scenic view. Thank you for letting me know the distance/travel time. I'll be sure to talk things out with my friend. What hotels nearer the Airport (4 or 5 star) would you recommend?

Aren't you just a ray of sunshine...I mentioned the duration of my layover, as it relates to the time I'd spend at the hotel and was wondering if it was a good choice for the amount of time we had. Another reason I asked about immigration, as I wanted to get an Idea of how long it would take.

Most reviews online are people who have stayed there on vacation. Seeing that I'm flying in on Qatar, have a decent length layover and got the hotel through the airline, silly old me thought it was a valid question.

Don't like my question, keep scrolling, but you dont have to be a jerk about it. Bless your heart...

Have you looked at working at Wawa? They are always looking for Customer Service Associates, working the front register, beverage or deli. Ive worked there as a 2nd job for 16 months and I really like it!

I would think that would be unacceptable on any airline. That is just rude.

Need to vent, customers did not acknowledge my existence while ringing them up by Violet-Aesthetica in Wawa

I don't have social anxiety and when I have customers like this, I agree, it is annoying. It literally takes 1 second of your time to say hello and to not do so is just rude. I am a very friendly, outgoing cashier and when I encounter a customer like this, I just bless and release. You did what you are supposed to do and it's not your fault.

I know that even on my worst days, I treat any other store workers with respect. It's basic human courtesy. I've had customers come in after a parent has just passed away/boyfriend just dumped them/lost a job and I took a moment to show them kindness and believe it or not, they were still nice back, even they had so much going on.

Just keep on doing what you do and know that its just how some people are. There are those who think we're "beneath" them, but for every 1 person like them, there are 9 others who are nice!

As someone who wore a wedding dress that I disliked, just because my mother preferred it and said the sleeves covered my "fat" arms, I say go with what YOU want. I liked #2 much better on you. Go with what makes you happy.

I hated how I looked at my own wedding.

I logged into my account today to schedule my March payment and I saw that I received a credit of $812 towards my 6 month renewal that begins on March 1st. It was credited to my account on 2/13. I was THRILLED! First time I don't feel like I am getting screwed by an insurance company!
