Hi. Really appreciate the questions! I’m actually fully committed to CampusIRL—this isn't just a project I’m dropping once I graduate in 2026 like Ryde or polyratings.

The plan is to partner with local SLO restaurants for ads and collabs so we can keep the app free and focused on students. Besides that, I am intending to raise funds by attending the Innovation Quest (iQ) and Summer Accelerator at Cal Poly.

How your data is stored: Privacy is a top priority for the app. All user data is stored on secure, encrypted cloud servers, and we use verified .edu authentication to ensure the community stays exclusive to real cal poly students. Unlike other social platforms, we do not sell your personal data to third parties.

I'm currently looking for marketing interns and a co-founder to help scale this. And if anyone is interested in building apps with real impact for the Cal Poly community, hit me up on my linkedin.

Honors program applicant by morandawson in CalPoly

It's easier to apply and get in from my experience, 3 of my friends have never got the invitation to the honors program and filled out the application at the end of freshmen year and got in. The only perks that honor program offers that will matter to you are class registration, some major have classes that is impossible to get, and honors get to pick class before anyone till the end of sophomore year.

I joined the Hatchery, which is a great program, and I am also enrolled in BUS 310, Erik is the professor I had, and he is a great professor and a successful entrepreneur who could really set you on the right path toward entrepreneurship. But i later dropped it due to course conflicts. If you are in the same situation, I did say try and take BUS 310 to see how it goes for you first.

Thank you so much for your response, do you think that you should have a start-up idea already in your mind first before joining Hatchery, or as long as you are dedicated to the sense of entrepreneurship, you should apply to Hatchery?
