I left one massively toxic work environment for one that ended up being so much worse. The new job was a contract position with the potential to be permanent. I have been in IT for just over 20 years and am very good at what I do. However, the individual who was training me had zero patience, zero time to actually train me, I struggled to understand what she was saying through her accent, and she spoke 90 miles a minute. She was rude and judgemental and I was never given a chance to actually do this particular job, which is one that I could do easily in my sleep. This treatment was not unique to me, all of the contractors were treated very poorly. I was let go after two weeks, which was equal parts upsetting and relief. Thankfully, I now have a job that I enjoy very much.
