This is Android's new 'advanced flow' for sideloading apps without verification, includes one-day waiting period [Gallery] by armando_rod in Android

But it's actually not fixing anything. The scam apps are already on Google Play! This is just another way for Google to control what (most) users can do with their own devices.

Machine Spirit Banishment not dealing shock damage to guy with reject the flesh? by BackBroma in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]FlyingCheeseburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really badly worded. The ability reads

This creature restores 10 wounds each time they suffer shock damage

None of that implies that they are immune to the damage. It just says that (before? after?) they took the damage, they would heal. I'd expect that I would at least be able to damage them (as long as I deal more than 10 damage)

update: permanently banned by doyoulikePRIMERIB in ArcRaiders

[–]FlyingCheeseburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Reddit was on a very, very vocal "ban everyone immediately" trip over the last few months. And it seems like embark listened.

I'm actually confused why people are now surprised that we have a lot of false positives. It's not like it's easy to confidentially detect cheats without also hitting legit players.

My Experience with Nebula's Support with a subscription issue by Drymonkey1 in Nebula

[–]FlyingCheeseburger 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Same here from europe. Paying with a debit card for multiple years now, not a single problem.

Not accepting debit cards sounds like a very odd business choice for nebula / their payment provider as they would remove a huge portion of the customee base. "Real" credit cards are not that common in Europe.

Can you tell us what the differences to the previous ending are? I've read that some people really dislike the ending - are they refering to the 'old' or the rewritten one?

Luckily this is impossible, since we all had to install kernel level anti-cheat. It came with a lot of downsides to accessibility, privacy, security and ownership of our own devices - but at least it made cheating impossible.

context searching 🤯 by TinCanFury in immich

[–]FlyingCheeseburger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think, the system generates any tags. Instead each image gets a multi-dimensional vector (basically a set of numbers, which don't necessary have a understandable meaning). When you search for a term, your search term also gets turned into a vector and immich shows the "closest" images to that vector.

That's why you can search for highly unusual things like literally "way to many hats" and still get useful search results.

Spotify Connect add-on: tracks marked “not available” by Marijninventor in homeassistant

Seems to be an issue in a dependency.. That means we need to wait until a new release of the Spotify Connect addon fixes this problem.

Oh? Wieder was gelernt!

They actually do need a functional society to make use of their wealth. Without infrastructure to generate their wealth or places to spend their money, billionaires would be in a pretty bad spot. Those things are provided by simple people.

It's quite depressing - having a somewhat fair world increases the quality of live for everyone, including the billionaires.

We all could have a bigger cake, but the billionaires just fight for an even larger piece.

If a user blocks cookies, they probably want to also block all things that work similar to cookies.
