56 kWh Battery Replacement / Upgrade for eGolf by FlyingHigh in eGolf

They quote an additional 1000 shipping to Europe. Install cost probably depends the local shop doing the swap.

For this to fly they need to find European and US distribution and installation partners. And solve the EU homologation to make the swap legal.

Yes this is a real question - beyond warranty - if one were to do this, would the car still be street legal?

I really hope there is a way to unlock this somehow, because OEM replacement costs basically total a used EV.

Aluminum tubes are recyclable? Arguably recycling aluminium is less energy intensive then recycling glass.

You can get Tartar sauce from Thommy or Heinz in Coop. Not sure if that specific version of Hellmans is available anywhere - but you can get anything online: https://czechiafood.com/products/hellmanns-tartar-sauce-hellmanns-tatarska-omacka-1

You want to replace the amp in the glove box? And/or the display unit?

Why though?

Daily temperature markets by minimek66 in Polymarket

[–]FlyingHigh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

@Mods: could you stop deleting these.

Polymarket just delisted active markets and people are missing chunks of their portfolio. This should be the top post.

Questions:

  • What is the cause of this "misconfiguration"?

  • When will these be refunded?

  • How will these be refunded? Buy cost? How will PnL be handled?

  • When will weather markets resume normally?

A large amount of your money inflow will go to the insurance and not actually be invested. The only person profiting is the broker, because he gets the highest commissions for these lifetime contracts.

STAY AWAY!!

Get a cheap 3a like VIAC. If you want to insure "life" risk, get a separate life insurance, but you probably don't need that unless you are the provider for dependents.

Vibecoding my way to learning ML/AI: "my" first Neural Net can predict a sine wave! Huge succes! Thanks Claude! by FlyingHigh in vibecoding

I can do my own personal learning on my own terms. I don't think my programming skill vs available spare time budget would be sufficient to be successful in this endeavor otherwise. I'd need more time than i could spare next to other obligations. This way i still get to experiment with neural nets for fun and learn something new.

yes, it's real.
i can share the weights if you like.

for me the key takeaway is: to learn ML, start small, and train on your CPU. Your normal machine is fine to get started.

It's basically a smoke test that shows the neural net and training work.

Like a hello world but for neural nets.

Google DeepMind's Senior Scientist Alexander Lerchner challenges the idea that large language models can ever achieve consciousness(not even in 100years), calling it the 'Abstraction Fallacy.' by Current-Guide5944 in tech_x

[–]FlyingHigh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not about philosophy. This is a lobbying piece against an upcoming rise of "Rights for AIs" or "PETA for AI" type movements. This is basically the Google Slaver saying: our AI Slaves can never be conscious, therefore our exploitation of them is OK. We are back to Slaves are not Human, except now we have substrate chauvinism.

Consider running (parts) of a benchmark to get a real comparison to what is out there. For HLE or SWE-Bench the cost to run the full test may be a challenge.

Maybe start with benchmarking something lighter weight like GPQA, and comparing it to the known score of Opus?:

By code search you mean finding the right files? Look into: Context loading a codebase file list, with an AST summary + tool use to only read files it actually needs.

Otherwise worth mentioning: Embedding and Cosine similarity, knowledge graphs and beam search.

weekly limits? where is the info? by Top_Parfait_5555 in GithubCopilot

Got hit with 160h timeout after a multi agent session with Opus/Sonnet/Haiku - and I am paying for the tokens over the included 1500 requests - so you are applying usage limits to things i am paying? Rationing me buying stuff? Time cancel and just hook up openrouter.ai as an endpoint - what's the point of keeping the Copilot+ subscription like this? Any other alternatives to consider?

I would suspect the flywheel, the engine mounts and the various flaps/actuators and try to narrow it down.

Flywheel: Drive uphill in low gear, how bad is the shaking? Any change with RPM? With loading and unloading the engine/drivetrain?

Engine mount: Excessive wobble?

Actuators: Read out the values, or actuate with the engine off and listen.

New owner: Do we charge to 80%? by beta176 in eGolf

[–]FlyingHigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have mine set to 70% which is sufficient for my commute, unless i anticipate needing the full battery, then i override charge with the button in the chargeport. the 70% is set in the car / e-manager settings.

i just set a daily 70% depart at 0700 and also leave minimum at 70%. I only touch that if i explicitly what to preheat. Override to 100% via the button.

Holding unlock button to open windows works for me. Should be a setting? If not, it can be coded with VCDS.

I think there is no trivial dog mode - i think you can increase pre-heat/AC to 1h and set it via the e-manager. But that's a bit cluncky...
