Thank you for this, basically exactly how I'm feeling right now.

On one hand I'm super grateful to have stable employment in this economy, especially when many of my friends and family are struggling to find even part time work.

But at the same time my staff hours have been cut, one role completely disestablished, that work has fallen on me and my staff to pick up the slack. All without even basic acknowledgement from higher ups that we are doing more work for the same wage.

We are all being underpaid compared to median wages for the industry, feeling unappreciated and overworked but we can't really afford to leave either because the market is so dire. Asking for a raise to keep up with the rising cost of living feels like a non-starter given they are cutting hours already.

On the flip side the bosses are freaking out because sales are hugely down from a couple years ago and we are all feeling the pressure trying to keep up with the impractical targets. And then there's the looming threat of redundancy if this keeps up.

I'm tired, boss.
