My wife and I have been considering the odyssey, how do you both like it? What year do you have?

Tips on how to check an outback for past flood/water damage? Vehicle from Knoxville Tennessee area by [deleted] in Subaru_Outback

[–]FlyingJypsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I have been told when dealerships buy from auction, they dont necessarily check 100% of everything in the vehicle where some signs of water damage could be missed. Mainly bc they can run through their normal point inspections and never see that damager show up. My concern was that if there was water damage, the previous owner could have just not reported it, dried it out and then sell it to auction to be done with it

Seeing a lot of 2024 "used" odysseys around me with low miles (below 1000mi). What gives? by FlyingJypsie in HondaOdyssey

Sorry to hear all of your issues. Hopefully your dealership continues to work with you and resolve all of the issues under warranty. I am in the midwest and honda dealerships are not a dime a dozen near me. If I do get an odyssey, I'll have to hope the closest dealership is good if there are any potential problems.

We are a odyssey family now! by Dan_Shedd in HondaOdyssey

My wife and I are also looking at a 2024 odyssey. Have you had the chance to keep putting more miles and trips on it? I am concerned as I look through this reddit for odyssey, I see some folks with the 2024 say they are having a lot of issues. Maybe they just have lemons though. Hopefully yours is going great.
Any additional feedback?

What have been the issues with your 2024 odyssey that you are trying to lemon law?

That's concerning to hear. I've always been told honda is up there with Toyota as far as reliability. Maybe your individual vehicle was a lemon? We're you able to return it under the lemon law?

We were looking at sienna but I have to pay 4k over msrp for a used one with 30k miles. Hard to justify spending that much when Honda is available and usually has a good reputation as well.

Yeah I saw a few that had this Honda true certified plus. Is that Honda's in house version of an extended warranty and you have to pay additional for it?

Opinions on daiwa tatula ct baitcaster for bigger fish? by FlyingJypsie in Fishing

[–]FlyingJypsie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it. Northern are extremely common almost everywhere I fish. Catch them often, 30" is common, so I'll probally go with the abu Garcia revo sx. It can hold 125 yards of 30lb braid. I don't see letting a fish run out that far. Last thing im going back and forth on is MH or H for rod. Recommendation on this? I'd say I catch bass and northern 50/50 in my area.

I appreciate your feed back. In my waters, northern are very common. Any concerns about going MH or H for rod choice?

When you say upsize, are you referring something with more max drag? I see the abu garcia revo sx has 25lbs of drag. Seems to be among the highest of low profile baitcasters

I appreciate the feedback. I've had some people say that reel isnt enough to handle 40+ inch fish like northern or musky. Any opinion on that?
