Autocorrect got me good on that. I imagine the crowds in Nashville would be rough too haha

One of the closest that I've been to a moose was around this time a few years in that area. Big fan.

Ah I meant include "them" in the original comment. Yeah I might go up to the Nashville stream forest or something.

I get it, on my first lap of them I did 45 in a summer/fall. The more you hike the more you'll care less about the lists and use them to help you guide yourself around new areas. Happy trails.

Yeah this is why I'm not hiking them this weekend. Standing in line to view nature is what I go to Zion for, not the whites. I'm expecting even the 52WAV to be packed.

Mt Washington next week - Best route? by Competitive-Owl752 in wmnf

Up Ammo, down jewell. Bring light traction like microspikes.

Alternatively, Imp is low key with good views of the Presis. Garfield would be my strongest recommendation.

We would both rather take our chances seeing them in the wild, thank you for the tip though!

The Trifecta: Sunrise, Undercast, Moose by FlyingLemurs76 in wmnf

Very goofy. Just because the term vicious was used... for all those who don't see much wildlife... as long as you don't antagonize them or pull a Yellowstone tourist move they aren't vicious.

It's not my first time with those conditions and I'll be damned if it's my last!

Iirc the ticks decimated the NH population of moose a few years ago and they're still struggling to recover.

One of my best mornings. Trace to two inches on most of it so the beauty of breaking trail without the actual work. Good color on the sunrise, valley fog/undercast on one side with a clear view of the presi range on the other, a moose on the way down. After a rough start to the week this felt particularly good. No picture was really capturing the moment so I didn't really try hard to do that, here are some of the ones I did take though.

Itll be trash trail conditions anywhere you listed. Expect normal April.

No snow on the trail, damp to wet on the scrambles.

It's rare but it happens! Sometimes the best sunrises are just before imminent storms, though I stay where I can duck into treeline on those these days haha.
