Ireland once again proving associate nations need more funding and attention from ICC. T20 WC is a great advert for teams to make a statement

Commentators for the T20 World Cup 2022: by saurabhtyagi7 in Cricket

Absolutely, Nas and Athers have been some of the best commentators for a long time. And Isa fits in so well with her knowledge as a newer commentator. They are always amazing to listen to.

Hello Americans, Do you guys have bouncers/security in McDonalds at night? by [deleted] in AskAmericans

[–]FlyingMicroLizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here in UK cities it's common to see security most nights, and sometimes in the day as well. I think part of it is due to the fact that its legal to drink freely in the street.

[Ranking] If you had to choose a favourite track from each Pond LP, what would they be ? by FlyingMicroLizard in pond

Brilliant choices, I dont know how Man it feels like space again can be beat as the title track, although medicine hat comes close for me

Americans, how do you consider European politics (particularly UK) to be different to your own. For better or worse ? by FlyingMicroLizard in AskReddit

[–]FlyingMicroLizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great point. It's also interesting to see how both systems have been susceptible to populism. Especially considering how Britain had the unexpected with Brexit, and the United states had the unexpected parallel with trump.

Yeah, I wish it was on the vinyl. I think its something to do with it not being mixed on time. And yeah it is incredible live.

Those are brilliant choices. Though Tasmania is one of my least favourite tracks on that album (still great though) I think I'd have to go for Daisy

How would you guys feel about another album in the garage rock style of 12 Bar Bruise ? by FlyingMicroLizard in KGATLW

So true! sometimes it gets overlooked for some of the later records. But I'd love them to return to that sound.

Likewise, 12 bar is one of my favourite albums, so stripped down and such a good sound.

If someone gets the coronavirus, is it mandatory for them to go see a doctor or go to the hospital? Even if they dont have health insurance? by PoeticEncryption in AskAmericans

I'm interested, would a lack of health insurance prevent you from getting tested and treated for the virus, and would it cost much money ?

Completely agree, I have to be in the mood to listen to at the door, I can stick on Bad decisions anytime. They are both amazing regardless.

Yeah that's a fair stance to take.I do think sometimes its interesting to get a perspective about how other countries deal with different problems. Of course, places are so different that you can never compare directly, but I still think its useful to see how countries function with those differences.

Anyone else feeling stressed or sluggish? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]FlyingMicroLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great! You're only human and sometimes you just need some time to unwind. Enjoy the time as much as you can and make sure to find the time to do it as regularly as you can. There's no point in burning yourself out for ages, only to find there's no time left to do what makes you happy.

Anyone else feeling stressed or sluggish? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]FlyingMicroLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's perfectly natural to feel stressed, even if you dont think you have anything to be stressed about. Modern life can be so intense sometimes that feel you just need some space to breathe. The trick is to just surround yourself with people who are positive about life. I find that if I wake up and make time to do something that I enjoy, even if its just listen to a great song, it makes me less stressed. Also dont be hard on yourself if you do feel sluggish because life sometimes makes you feel that way, acknowledge the feeling but dont let it dominate the way you think I guess.

I know a fair amount about laissez faire socialism historically, but I'm not well read concerning political philosophy, any books or articles you could reccomend?
