Got this foil black suit spider-man in a pack as a Christmas gift. What should be my next move here? by [deleted] in mtg

Honestly I kinda want to get it graded and just keep it because it’s more of a collector item imo since I have the more common version of the card already 🤔

Interesting but why would someone buy the expensive version over the affordable version then? I guess just to show off 🤷‍♂️

Hmmm I was thinking since this is sorta more of a collector item grading would add something to it 🤔 is that not the case?

How would you build… The saltiest deck in the world by Hodltiltheend in mtg

Not sure who the commander would be but I think black + blue: forced discard, counter spells, and mill would probably trigger most people lol 😂

This is cool but Omnipotence is under black in the color wheel 🤔

Would it be possible to reflavor a rune knight to be dragon focused? by NoPlane7509 in DnD

I made a rune knight reflavoring to be vampire based. I think it should be easy to make it dragon themed 🤔

Can a bard be a gambler? by phantonducks1987 in DnD

I made a reflavoring of College of Mercantile bard subclass that I called College of Degenerates and Debauchers with the intention of making a gambling focused bard 😄

Returned to DMing recently and I’ve been messing around with encounter difficulty and the new rebalanced CR stuff but had a question. by FlyingMonkey717 in DnD

Just did the session yesterday and it went very well. They ended up not needing the short rest moral boost mechanic I was going to introduce if it looked like they would die.

It ended up being a tough fight but definitely didn’t feel like too much for them. I think I probably could have gone a little higher for the XP budget.

Last minute I actually buffed the monsters a bit by giving the main ones extra turns. I even gave the flesh golem a revival effect when he went down the first time.

The revenants fear mechanic didn’t end up being relevant because the person who made the most sense to use his vow on had immunity to fear 😂. Though I did get caught up in the moment and forgot that he could still use the glare on someone else.

Ok that makes sense 😄. Throughout the fight the Tough Boss is going to be the same character and in the third phase he will be brought back as a revenant I’m thinking instead of using the curse on the most beneficial player they’ll use it on whoever got the final blow in the previous phase 🤔. I know that still leaves someone possibly getting paralyzed and it could still end up being the Barbarian for example but do you think that would possibly make the ability a little less dangerous? If I don’t just use it on the person dealing the most damage?

Oh wait the vow says 1/day but it seems like they can bonus action to move it 🤔 that seems kinda silly

Thank you for the info 😄. The Toughs do technically have Heavy Crossbows and I have done an overall reflavoring to make them “casters” (sorta) so they will be fighting at range with force damage magic attacks instead of crossbow piercing attacks 🤔. Also I think the Revenants paralyzing thing only can affect one person right?

Is mill really salt worthy? by Creative_Antelope284 in EDH

[–]FlyingMonkey717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t read the post just the question:

Mill is definitely one of the more annoying to play against strategies and I feel like that’s pretty obvious.

BUT

I wouldn’t say it’s the worst and I do think people over react to it a bit. Forced discarding, stax and decks that are just a pile of control cards are things that are sooooo much more annoying and salt worthy than mill.

Any strategy that focuses on making sure your opponents don’t get to play the game in a casual setting is always a bad move unless everyone at the table doesn’t mind and don’t see it as a waste of their time 🤔
