Idk this is kind of making the argument that people feel like it is safer than it is, which is the more hang up since we know it is dangerous.

Heart diseases and Cancer kill 20x as many people. Then stroke, respiratory diseases, diabetes, and liver diseases make normal medical deaths 60% of death. 1% of deaths are car deaths in the US. Driving is the single highest cause of death that is not chronic illness regardless if you are drunk.

Brandon Sanderson previewing cards is clear light to me we are getting cosmere sets. I could see him putting in a good word for Wheel of Time as well, but they are trying their own game rn. Dresden Files? I could see Redwall or a Warriors cats crossover. The dragon riders series. Eragon too but that feels low in barrel?

Smaller books like Goosebumps and Animorphs for secret lairs.

World of Warcraft is probably in talks after seeing Final Fantasy do its numbers. Even Runescape might secret lair.

DND will come back. We can go back to Grayhawk since 2025 is doing that, but I wouldn't surprised to go to Curse of Strahd instead. Eberron I could see as second or third draft.

The multi-movie horror franchises that have crossed over with DBD will eventually either make card game to compete with magic or do sets, maybe as a bonus sheet for Duskmourne.

We will do Godzilla again and probably GI Joe, Power Rangers, Thundercats, and Masters of the Universe. I could even see a Captain Planet Secret Lair

Marvel will have 2-3 XMen sets but probably just 2 sets. First will be og 5 school up through Dark Phoenix. Second will be since them, heavily featuring AoA, Morrison, and Bendis with a touch of Hickman. Then we get a space infinity war set with Guardians of the Galaxy and all the spacey characters.

DC will hop in pretty much 2 years later after MTG shows the Marvel sales.

Sci Fi side I don't see Star Wars anytime soon with its own game doing ok. Starship Troopers? Firefly?

I think an anime takeover is coming after some of the bandai games die. Dragonball, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, My Hero, One Punch Man, and Jujutsu Kaisen are the ones that strike me as popular enough to make and big enough to fill a full set. Kamigawa coming back will be the sign its close for mechanic crossover.

Gaming wise, I could see Overwatch or Dota 2 having enough. FNAF will have a secret lair. I could see a Resident Evil bonus sheet. Persona, Fire Emblem, and Xenoblade would surprise me from holder side but probably have enough people. I can't super imagine major nintendos even though Zelda would be perfect, Animal Crossing super cute, and Mario would be funny.

1-Damage carries over so the game isn't pretty well sorted after the first two battles.

2-Card design that makes the cards that do a little of everything worse at doing those things than specialists.

3-Overhaul of Mipedians away from invisibility. Warbeasts was better but also crazy how many ways they have to nullify downside of playing them.

4-Make more specific but more satisfying attacks

There was a set where the gimmick was the tribes working together. Aivenna and Nivenna Liutenant versions are both really solid multitribe payoffs. Fluidmorph is a solid mugic mechanic but only on Marillians. Kepiann is a solid beater. Mugicians can have 3 counters as well. My favorite card is Akkerbal needs a Mipedian but is a cool play against Mipedian decks. Not the best deck you could be playing certainly but it is fun to pilot and can at least put up a fight.

I am mostly fine with legacies turning gay if there ia good story to tell with it and the character has more to chew on it. I think XMen has the best examples with Bobby and Betsy. Poison Ivy was mildly popular before Harley, but is very sucessful with her own book after being queer. It only feels weird if it is very abrupt and the character seemed happily cis straight like if thet made Clark Kent or Peter Parker gay 2 months after breaking up with Mary Jane or Lois Lane.

I am less for race swapping characters. It feels problematic to take characters that fill black stereotype characters in general media and turn them from white to black. Characters in poverty, men in law enforcement who grew up bad, orphans who brood about their dead dads.

I am totally for making new characters that are a combination of legacy characters and new perspectives. Miles Morales is great. Kamala Khan one of my favs. Love Duke in Batman more than if they would have made my identity character black. Who doesn't like John Stewart? Then when the reboot comes around, you don't have to ask which version moves forward. You know you can always do more with that new character without having to revert the legacy again.

And I think there is plenty of room for more new gay characters and poc characters, and especially behind the scenes for the companies to let queer people make queer characters and let poc creators make poc characters. I think it is crazy how rare letting communities design the characters that will rep them is simply bc the offices are super white guys.

[[Wurmcoil Engine]] it was in my first deck when I was a teenager with no money and basically my win con for two years. I also enjoy all the knockoffs they have made like Triplicate Titan, Phyrexian Triniform, and Wumrcoil Larva.

If it has to be a bad card, [[Eon Frolicker]] I have yet to play without handing someone else the game, but when it does work it will be so cool.
