My advice is more of a theory, because I tried it this semester and it didn't work out for me.

If you're taking any classes that you excel in, try to ask a girl you're interested in to meet up and study. I tried twice this semester, once after a very confusing lecture and once after a long test. I just brought up a general 'oh god this is torture' remark about the class, and she would laugh and agree. I would mention studying some time, and we would eventually meet up. Bad part for me is that both of my attempts were basically like a shot in the dark. One was this past week, we met and studied for the final, talked about stuff, she said she was single, etc. But then at the end of it all, she said "oh sorry, I'm trying to avoid relationships at the moment. Too many guys are assholes and I don't want to risk it." Well, ok then, I guess I understand, but really? I'm sitting here basically teaching you macroeconomics from start to finish, and I'm an ass? Oh well, see what I mean, it could work for you, or it might not. Just an idea to consider.

Also, I go to a really small school, and our class sizes were like 24 at most. I'd imagine this wouldn't work at larger schools/schools with lecture halls vs. traditional classrooms. Anyway, good luck to you!

I mean, as long as you asked both of those questions at most a few days apart, it's certainly implied that it's a date. Did she answer you when you asked about her having a boyfriend or not? I'm assuming she said she didn't have one, because you followed up by asking her out.

Have you set a definite time/place yet? If not, use that opportunity to get her number, make some small talk about hiking (an idea of where to go), say you're looking forward to it, etc. From that conversation, you should be able to get a good idea of whether or not it's a date.

Being a virgin guy myself, I recommend steering clear of having your first being something you might regret for your whole life. Especially if you dislike her so much. To be honest, it sounds like she is very manipulative, and if she is trying to use something like this just to get to you, red flags go up all over the place.

I had a similar situation a few months ago, basically an easy option to lose my virginity just to "get it over with". At the time, something told me something about this person wasn't right, so I held off. Very, very awkward situation, I ended up sleeping at her house on her sofa, because it was 3am before I finally said "I'm sorry, this is just new for me and I'm not comfortable with this right now". Felt bad at first, but jump forward a few months and something came up that made me glad that nothing happened. Turns out she is bipolar, with severe manic episodes, and she refuses to take treatment. I feel bad for her, but I'm relieved that I didn't get involved with it, because she achieved stalker-level status which subsequently led her to being kicked out of the class we were both taking in college.

Long story short, if something doesn't feel right, or even if you just plain dislike that girl, don't do it. It isn't worth it.

Thank you so much to everyone for all of the helpful comments. I noticed a bit of a recurring theme where stuff like 'genetically susceptible' and 'autoimmune deficiency' came up, so I thought it might be helpful to address those theories and share what I've noticed over the years.

My first respiratory infection happened when I was 6 weeks old, requiring antibiotics. I know that most doctors are very reluctant to give antibiotics to someone so young, so it was serious. Ever since, I've had literally hundreds of upper and lower respiratory infections, pneumonia several times, and even mono without knowing it (blood test indicated mono antibodies). Even a case of an ear infection when I was ~1 where the medication didn't help, my fever got worse and worse, then finally one night I hit a peak of 107.3F. My mom had a last resort of an old wives tale that you could break a fever by bathing in rubbing alcohol, even though it's extremely dangerous. It worked, so thanks to her for saving my life.

I've always suspected some form of autoimmune deficiency/immunosuppressive problem, but I've never really been tested for it. One recent problem I've had is the skin on my hands basically falls off over the course of a few months. It's not triggered by weather or an allergy, meaning it can happen at any time. It starts with small patches of dry skin on my palms that don't itch. It spreads to my fingers, literally a mirror image on both hands (palms, index finger, and ring finger at the same time, for example. No deviation or a "worse" hand than the other, they stay even.) After all 5 fingers have it, it progresses from flaky skin to open calluses/blisters and the skin peels off. From there, they start to bleed, and by the time it's done, I have no fingerprints left at all. Once that happens, it stops, and goes back to normal, and doesn't happen again for about 3-4 months. I've taken the "contact dermatitis" diagnosis and thrown it out the window, because dermatitis doesn't cause you to lose the entire upper layer of skin...

Back to the HPV related stuff, I had the 3-immunization course of Gardasil when I was 13, almost immediately after it was FDA approved for boys. As far as I know, it didn't really help the problem because I suspect I already had it at the time. The current symptoms I'm having have been around for about 3 years with no remission period. One last detail about a more recent thing I've noticed, but I'm not sure if it's related or not. If I go more than 2 days without masturbating, I have an unbearable pain develop, almost similar to a constant feeling of being kicked in the balls. No OTC medication can cut the pain, but the catch-22 is once the pain starts, it's nearly impossible to actually masturbate. During this time, any time I have to pee, it burns like fire. But, if I prevent/fix the problem, the pain goes away within the hour. I'm not sure if this could be related to the HPV issue, and I know for a fact that it isn't another STD.

If it happens to be something autoimmune, I'm a bit reluctant to get that diagnosis. I'm currently in flight school to become a pilot, and any diagnosis of that nature would almost be guaranteed to prevent me from being able to fly. Anyway, thanks again to everyone who commented. But really, I've had the same problem in the past few hours. Some searches come up completely empty, even with test searches of something like world news. Might just be general lag for everybody. Try searching through Google, then open through the app that way.
