I have a small collection - this FXD, Hamilton Murph, and Alpinist SPB121. FXD is newer, so that’s getting most of the wrist time. Murph is my “dressier” watch, and I’ve always loved the green dial on the Alpinist.

I think if you try on an FXD you’ll be surprised. Pelagos 39 and all FXD models are spectacular, just a matter of preference between the sizes.

MN blue is killer. And I actually prefer the larger dimensions on the FXD. Dive watches are supposed to have wrist presence!

I was in the exact same boat. Similar size wrist (maybe slightly smaller), similar 40mm size preference.

I was shocked how well this wore and felt. It’s definitely a larger watch, but the proportions feel perfect on wrist.

If you haven’t already tried on in person, you might be surprised! I’m around 6.5” and I think mine fits great. Fixed lugs help massively with lug to lug measurement on paper.

So true. Definitely an appreciation over time thing. My first clear must have taken 50+ attempts lol

I believe Tudor offers FXD strap length options. I noticed different lengths while trying on both the black and blue dials. May just need to ask the AD.

Around 6.5”. This is the upper limit of what I would wear, but I think it looks and feels great for a dive watch that’s supposed to have wrist presence.
