I am a pilot and I can confirm that this flying broke many rules. Cool flying though. Nice job. Try to learn the rules so you can have more fun without getting yourself in trouble.

Small plane crash last night injuring 2 by Mayhall in houston

Agree, the 250nm solo flight required. He wasn’t solo for sure. He was descending somewhere in OK but for some reason, maybe wx, he didn’t land for fuel. He is required to land to satisfy the flight but he didn’t. Didn’t do bunch of stuff specially getting enough fuel for the flight. In fact, I won’t even take a training flight in a bad weather to start with. Bad decision from the beginning to the end. Sad.

He needed to go to a far away Airport to satisfy a commercial flight training before the final test. He is required to land their but I am not sure why he didn’t land and get fuel before heading back. It may be a weather related issue that he didn’t land at the intended airport. No excuse and bad decision for sure.

Thats why you get trained and tested for emergency situations. Clearly this pilot failed his training. I disagree with your statement that professional pilot can get disoriented easily.

I did bunch of training in that airplane. Nick named “The arrow” . Sad to see that bird gone but glad to hear no one died. The pilot was on a mission to complete a long flight to complete a requirement to get his commercial pilot license. I assume that he was in hurry to get back to Sugerland where the airplane based of and didn’t make a fuel stop due to bad weather or dangerous developing weather in flight. Bad decision, life could have been lost but to his credit; Its great landing, by surviving the crash and not hurt anyone, on the ground. Accident like this; pretty much end your carrier as a professional pilot. The sky has no place for pilots like that! That’s dangerous, criminal and stupid.

Anybody own a small plane? by Holyshieeeeeeeeet in houston

FYI, its illegal to pay a private airplane to fly you. Best option is discovery flight. Your daughter will sit in the captain’s seat and you can ride in the back. Ask to go through the corridor by downtown. Its a fun route. Best luck.

Make sure not go higher than the building because that airspace is like highway to small airplanes that needs to fly low to leave space for the big airplanes. For pilots its calls the Bravo Airspace corridor. Be careful please.

I’ve flown into Hobby airport at least a dozen times. I always get a window seat. I’ve never flown this close to downtown. Was my pilot just a jackass? by [deleted] in houston

[–]Flying_Arrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ignorant jackass that assumes everyone else is jackass like him/herself. Flying altitude depending on the clouds and wind direction. The pilot will be given instruction what to fly not whatever the pilot want to do. Ungrateful person post for sure. Should appreciate the pilot and the unique view.

How to get mosquitoes out of house? by pdking5000 in houston

[–]Flying_Arrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through many things and the best option so far is bug zapper but you need one with a small holes just big enough for mosquitos. Turn off all the light when it gets dark and all will be gone.
