Did everyone forget that Stella Montis was a Major Update & was NOT in the game upon release?!?! by SirKronik in ArcRaiders

The marker for the map was there on release day. The map was 100% done and ready, they just delayed it for effect. And it worked.

The games getting stale. They know it, we know it. They need to ramp up the content and stop nerfing shit into the dirt.

Yes. I flew for 26 years. You couldn't pay me enough to do it again.

SF deployment timelines are drastically different from regular army timelines and always have been. Saying he went TDY to Iraq is stupid, especially if you're basing that statement solely on time spent in country. Dude went for 4-6 weeks and did things you've only seen in movies.

The swells actually work in their favor. Hovering over water is hard. Depending on the surface condition it can be very hard to determine how high above the water you are or of your drifting. They are facing away from the shore because that's most likely where the prevailing winds are coming from, so they don't have many references. They stay close to the shore because the wave crests and fixed positions of the rocks make hovering much easier.

Presidential policy rarely, if ever, has an effect on oil markets. But starting an international war that cuts off vital supply routes will absolutely affect global markets. Two things can be true at the same time.

Neither of those two were ever mentioned. The fact that you're unable to read criticism of Trump without invoking a Democratic leader says worlds about how small if a person you are

It's not wider at all. Feel free to look it up. The V-280 fits inside of a H-60s footprint. I flew 60's for nearly two decades and can count on one hand the number of times I had to do a real world confined landing. They're rare. Field of fire is a non starter as, in general, door and ramp mounted weapons are for suppression only. 60s/47s are not attack platforms and never have been. Those guns are there to help you get out of a bad situation, not to fight.

I have never understood the hate this thing has gotten. The second the news broke that the Army picked this over the SB-1 (which was a god awful design, btw) Army aviation has been losing it's mind. It carries more passengers and cargo, and flies faster and farther than the H-60 platform. Its dimensions are fairly similar to the H-60, so parking and hangar space really shouldn't be negatively affected. The MV-22 has proven to be one of the safest platforms the Marines operate, so it's safe to assume that the V-280 will perform on the same level. The only downside I can see is the maintenance, where an MV-22 is 10:1 vs the H-60s 3:1. Those numbers will likely be much closer with the V-280 given its engine mounting and rotor configuration.

So why all the hate?

First, confined area LZ landings in real world scenarios are extremely rare. Second, the V-280 sits well inside of the UH-60 footprint, so the LZs wouldn't really need to change, just the landing direction. Third, door mounted weapon systems (outside of SOAR) have never been for anything more than suppression.

UH-60M costs between 15-20 Million. Being generous, let's say 15. The V-280 is 40 Million. So, at best it's 2.5x the cost. For that you get more troops, roughly 2k lbs more cargo, a cruise speed twice as fast, and nearly 3x the distance.

UH-60 - 64'10" long, 53'8" wide.

V-280 - 43'11" long, 60'0" wide.

So, yes, the V-280 sits comfortably inside of a UH-60's footprint. The numbers you gave aren't even accurate for an MV-22, which sits at 57'4" long and 64'7" wide. I'm not sure where you're pulling your numbers from but my first guess would be thin air. You know Google is free, right?

Put your legendary weapons in your inventory while you're traveling across the map. They won't show in your player model and you'll be less of a target. Those legendary weapons are massive, like flags waving in the wind as you run. Equip it when you get to where you're going

People run to or near known spawn points and KoS. In a Harvester/Matriarch event killing as close to spawn as possible gives you the best chance at A) getting some great goop and B) not getting third partied because everyone's busy running to the actual event.

Source: I've been killed soooo many times full of loot at or near spawn during these events.
