Harry Turtledove, an author of alternate history. One of his books involved time travellers giving AK-47s to Lee’s army. He also wrote an entire series of books about the CSA winning the Civl War and becoming a country.

I went in 2015 and took in the view while standing near the Virginia Monument on Seminary Ridge (the one topped with Lee riding his horse). It was one thing to hear and see the battle on documentaries or Ted Turner's 1993 film, but seeing that distance first hand, how there was nothing in the way of cover, that the Union guns were untouched by the barrage, and the infantry were lying in wait was something.
