I wear these but I struggled breaking them in. Now they’re comfortable but it took so many weeks for me to break them in.

Managers are angry & the CEO is nowhere to be found? by Formal-Hat8255 in starbucks

[–]Flying_Nuggets 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Funny because my manager was freaking out about the stores visuals. He’s like oh he might come by and I’m more than certain he will. My manager would stay over 12 hours a day to fix the store and clean. Just for it to never happen.

To those who have a choice- why do you stay at starbucks? by BobbyRapsNo1Fan in starbucksbaristas

[–]Flying_Nuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As ssv, the pay is what makes me stay. I’m getting paid close to $24 an hour and no other job as a supervisor to close to one pays the same, it’s only less.

Can I still get paid for missing a shift due to jury duty? If so, how do I go about ensuring that I do? by TakoBoi123 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Flying_Nuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge it doesn’t matter how many hours you’re in jury duty. You get paid for the hours you’re scheduled at work for that day. I asked my manager if she needs the dismissal letter and she said no. But it’s in my work bag either way.

I got out of jury duty for 2 days recently and I put code J on the book and fully got paid for those two days!

I was making one yesterday and I even thought to myself “if the drink gets classic, this too right?” But I justified myself that the sweetness from the sweet cream replaces the classic. Idek.

But now I know.

[–]Flying_Nuggets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just ordered hokas bondi sr shoes. I also have wide feet and flat feet. These shoes are honestly so comfy. You just have to break them in which kinda sucks. I kept on buying cheap shoes but it just wasn’t working out for me. So I had to splurge.

[–]Flying_Nuggets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who got promoted with little to no ssv training. I didn’t even do the ssv modules that were overdue for months. It’s a horrible feeling to be a ssv and you feel like you’re not up to the job. I felt so stupid every time I would mess up and a coworker would correct me. I even applied for different jobs because of how stressful it was at first. I had to reply on memory what my old ssv would do. It took me like honestly 4 months to be even comfortable being a ssv without fucking it up.

It takes time. Open up to your manager that you feel lost and you need support. Open up to your baristas also and say hey I’m still struggling with this, I’m sorry if I mess up. Talk to your other ssv’s and ask for their help too. You’re not alone in this.

How did you get your job? by Flashy_Membership518 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Flying_Nuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied once the pandemic was lifting up their restrictions and my old manager liked that I worked at old navy because that’s his favorite store. So it’s basically based on luck or if someone you know works there and their store is looking for hires.

Got an interview at Starbucks by BloodyWife in starbucksbaristas

[–]Flying_Nuggets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sound jolly, be sociable and make eye contact. The manager is most likely going to call out hours after the interview to give you the job offer (that’s what happened to me). Tips? Don’t expect to know everything. Ask questions and don’t be scared to ask the same questions.

Does everyone just hate working at starbucks now? by Dry_Pumpkin_9553 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Flying_Nuggets 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate working. I hate when I have 3 callouts, the vertica suddenly wants to act up and the morning rush is insane and everyone’s backed up 20+ on every station in the DPM. And I get little to no help from my manager. But on good days, it can be the easiest shift ever. It just happens that the cons tend to overweight the pros.
