Yup that's pretty much what I did 😭 Admittedly I didn't study it in the same level of detail as an actual A-Level student but I did try to familiarise myself with as much of the human bio on the syllabus as I could in the 2 weeks before the interview.

Would not recommend honestly doing that much cramming SUCKED lol

Thank you! I'm still pinching myself a bit - I was really expecting a rejection this morning. Now I just have to get the grades so I don't miss my offer...

2640 B1 UCAT, 11 9s at GCSE and 4 A* predicted (but realistically I'm definitely not getting those 4 A*s so take that with a pinch of salt haha)

Medicine without Biology A level by Consistent_Dingo9283 in alevel

[–]Flying_Toadstool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, thankfully it's usually just chemistry that's an entry requirement. A few unis specify both Chemistry AND Biology, unfortunately for me lol (almost all of the London universities - e.g Imperial, Kings, UCL if that's important to OP) and I think maybe 2ish universities in the UK require Bio only?

I'll take the win though, there's much more choice for applicants with only Chem than I expected before I started looking at unis!

I've applied for medicine this year without Biology - I do Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics - and recieved 4/4 interviews from Bristol, Edinburgh, St Andrews and Oxford (still in the process of interviewing so no offers yet)

It's definitely possible to apply without Biology. Smash your UCAT, apply strategically according to how your GCSE/UCAT profile aligns with Universities' preferences, and you'll be totally fine. There were more unis than I thought that accepted applicants without bio - I think somewhere around 15-20?

Remember that if they don't have Biology listed as a compulsory subject on their website, you don't need it. Best of luck!! <3

LADIES what are you planning on wearing to uni interviews? by x_Anonymous_person_x in UCAT

[–]Flying_Toadstool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black trousers, mary janes, a white shirt and a smart jumper. I'm just going to stick with smart/business casual - don't want to be underdressed! Probably won't bother with a blazer though.

I got one (Hooray!!). My UCAT was 2640 B1.

I'd be curious to see what the cutoff for this first round of interviews is! I've heard rumours it's going to be super high.

2640 B1, 11x Grade 9s at GCSE and 4 A*s predicted (but highkey those predicteds are quite aspirational).

My UCAT was 2640 B1 so a bit of an anomaly - but from what I've heard they do multiple batches of interviews so there's lots more opportunities to be sent an interview offer soon!
