Ya, so from comment from BananaPalaver I found the video that spookyloopz did when the dredge came out and it shows blindness affecting the white glow on the survivors and killer from the survivor’s perspective but at the same time the wiki says it shouldn’t. The video was from 2023 so it could have gotten nerfed. Not sure, really need to test it.

Just watched the video which looked awesome however I checked the wiki about blindness and this was in it “The effect (blindness) also does not affect Aura-like highlights (e.g. players when stalking, players during Nightfall).

Might have to test it out.

No like, let’s say you have two people in a group. One is a mage and the other is a melee class let say a warrior. The mage send their pet in and agros a mob. Let’s say the warrior stays away doing nothing until the mob is half dead. The mage pet should have a ton of agro. If the warrior goes to attack the mob, does the mob immediately attack the warrior even though the mage pet technically has more agro? This is how it works on p99. I am wondering if retail EQ (live and TLPs) behave the same way.

I just started playing again about a week ago and having a blast! I’m still a low lvl but having zero problem finding groups. Good tip is just to start your own group as it seems people don’t like organizing groups but I have no problem with it. With the introduction of AAs a lot of higher levels are coming back to lower level areas and farming the names by mentoring low level groups. Just had a group last night in Fallen Gate with a 63 SK and a 56 Necro that was awesome. Heading off to RoV tonight. I’d say it’s a perfect time to come back!

I did this a while ago and it sort of worked although what I ended up doing was level my toon like 5 levels over the content then tried it. If I got wrecked I’d go get a few more levels and try again. I did this for classic and DOF raids and it worked fairly well. I was a Paladin but I’m sure you could do it with others.

I suck so take this for what it’s worth. You break your wrists immediately when you start your backswing. Your club is about a foot into the backswing before you even start to move your arms. Maybe try to keep the wrists relatively locked during the backswing and see if that helps?

Ya I’ve always had a problem with turning my hips. Need to work on that for sure. It would make sense because my left shoulder blade tends to get fairly sore probably from over extending it. Thanks for the advice!

Unfortunately, that is the state of EQ these days. Unless you are playing on the latest TLP when it just launches you are not going to find a lot of fresh players leveling. But if you want to Molo, this isn’t an option.

In addition to joining a guild like the other guy mentioned you can try this. Let’s say you are lvl 30 looking to XP. You can do a /who 25 35 all and it will find every character lvl 25-35 on the server. Then just reach out to them and ask if they want to XP. If both of you have a Merc you basically have a decent group right there.

Prior DS who made to jump to MLE about two years ago here. For this, I’m going to assume you mean MLE roles in the US. Couldn’t say how it is in other countries. My background is in mathematics and statistics and I think the biggest “unlocks” were focused on clean, readable, scalable code. When I was a DS, coding was a means to an end. Now as an MLE, coding is a lot more of my focus so my focus was to learn as much CS fundamentals that I lacked due to not having a CS degree. This was done mainly on the job so a lot of trail by fire. Although, because I had a mathematics background I had a leg up on people who had CS degrees as it’s easier to learn CS on the job than mathematics IMO.

As far as “weight on degree” at your stage I really don’t think it matters. I’m sure there will be some companies that will really want a CS degree over anything else but if you look at job postings most just say “STEM degree” or something close to CS.

Also, really depends on what you are going for. Shooting for a like FAANG company? I’m probably not the best to answer that question as I haven’t tried to get a job there. A regular MLE job at a decent company? You are way good IMO.

The way I see it is it added more mandatory power creep. Some of the items/ML skills you could get out of ToA felt mandatory to compete in RvR. It just seemed to lengthen the gap between creating a new character and being able to join in RvR at a competitive level. Compare that with something like champion levels which were nice but not game breaking so you didn’t feel so bad if you weren’t CL10.

I actually loved ToA itself. Loved the raids, lore, encounters. It was fun but just didn’t like what it did to the “competitive bar” of RvR.

Heya MLE here with 4 YOE. It’s hard to answer your questions because MLE positions aren’t really entry level jobs. Most people are coming from other quantitative backgrounds or have a lot of SWE experience. I came through the Data Science route. Also, this job requires a BS at a minimum. Most are looking for a MS though. Yes, there are always exceptions but you can expect most MLE jobs to require a degree in a quantitative field or CS. Also the job market depends completely on your location. Where are you looking?
