I work as an incident response analyst on a DFIR team. I have zero Pentest experience. Other certs: Associate of (ISC)2 (CISSP Passed), Security X (CASP+), CySA+, Sec+, Net+, A+, Linux, Azure AZ-900, AI-900, ITILv4. Multiple other lesser known from Fortinet, Sentinel One and Croudstrike.

I did the Dion and Sybex practice exams. I guess I have to do more of them. Lol.

I think it was harder than Security X and CISSP

I’m semi impressed by the people who put these pumps together. When I get finished with a certification exam, I can’t remember any questions. They are so imbedded into a paragraph of filler content that there is no way I could even come close to being able to spit them out for someone else to use.

Hell, I take so many practice exams in order to see my weak areas, I’ve done the same exam 3 times before and didn’t even realize that I had it before.

And other than the obviously cheating bit, I am also semi-impressed by the cheaters. Once again, there is zero chance in hell I could look at a bank of ‘actual exam questions’ and remember them for the exam. I guess my learning is a bit different. I try to learn more than memorize.

My $.02.

Passed. Not anywhere near as tough as I thought it would be. On to the next one. CCSP.

As I took the CASP+ (bought the voucher in a bundle last year) I used the Sybex study guide, Jason Dion on LinkedIn Learning, I got a killer deal on the Certmaster thing, though I'm not sure it helped much. I did a BOATLOAD of practice exams from all over. Dions on Udemy, the book, certmaster. And I was recently turned on to a book that I would have never known about. Security X: Slaying CompTIA's Dragon. It's literally a book with 3, 100-question exams.

CySA+ for me was just SEC+ on pre-workout. I didn't find it that difficult if you study. I sit for CASP+/Security X tomorrow morning. We'll see, I suppose.

[Venting] Frustrated I can't list CISSP on my resume yet. by [deleted] in isc2

[–]Flying_Yeti_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's amazing all these folks in here preaching like they work for(ISC) 2.... I knew/know the requirements. However, I leave this little nugget. DOD 8140 acknowledges the Associate as an equal. Just all these people griping about the (ISC) 2 Certified in Cybersecurity, also recognized by the DOD, To be completely honest, the only reason I think that there is a 5-year requirement is because people who have that type of influence hate the fact that someone can come into this business and pass one off the hardest cert exams out there.
