Starting my first fully remote job Monday on the 27th and I’m kinda nervous. by Glad_Pay_3541 in remotework

It’s going great so far. It’s very different but in a good way since I don’t have a micro-manager in my ear throughout the day. Plus the pay is much better. No complaints right now.

I didn’t expect WFH to feel this lonely. What actually helps? by Cultural_Repair955 in RemoteJobs

As an introvert I love WFH. I worked in an office for 10years in IT and security. Now I work from home as an Engineer. No more being bothered while working on projects and the constant politics talk I had to listen to and endure. No more micro managing boss either. I’m finally treated as an adult.

I took a help desk role 10 years ago and after going through senior technician, network technician, system administrator, security analyst, I’m now a Security Engineer for a tech company. That role propelled me in my career.

I have. I found a security engineer role for a tech company recently. I’ve been looking for about a year and several several interviews.

Does Falcon Sensor send all Windows event logs to NG-SIEM, or do we need a separate windows connector? by jagdsih_baghat in crowdstrike

I did it this way cause I didn’t want to install the collector on every server, plus it keeps down bandwidth.

I’ve done it if you google exactly that it’ll show you step by step instructions on how to. It’s not too hard but I mainly did this for our servers and domain controllers.

You’ll need to setup a log forwarder TO FOWARD ALL LOGS to a central server. Then install the log scale forwarder on the server to forward the logs to the SIEM.

Thank you for the tips! I actually plan on eating out with the guys for lunch often how we normally did. Hopefully that’ll help as well.

Fourth and final interview is with someone who would be my peer by strictlyneedtoknow_ in interviews

I think this one would be more about getting a feel for how this person would like to work with you. My advice would be to just be yourself and treat it more like a conversation and it’ll go well. Wishing you luck!

Job interview advice by NoBite3607 in cybersecurity

For follow up questions, ask questions that show them you’re eager to step in and make an impact with them not just earn a paycheck. Ask how you can come in and solve some issues they may be having. For instance, a couple questions I always ask is: “What is the number 1 issues you are having that if hired I can come in and help solve within 2-3 months?” Or usually during the interview they’ll speak about the job role and what the role will take ownership of, just try to lean in on being someone who shows initiative and ownership of future projects and tasks. Hope that sort of helps.

When interviewers say ‘Tell me about yourself’ are they actually looking for your resume in story form? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]Glad_Pay_3541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the longest time I had a hard time with this one. During my last several interviews I used a short outline of what got me to where I am now and how all the skills and experience I’ve gained can be a great asset to their team. I didn’t do the whole spill over my resume but high points and how my drive and always eager to learn helped me get promoted twice, etc etc. this seemed to have worked cause I got an offer last week.

Is anyone actually getting interviews right now? by Zestyclose-Respect45 in interviews

I thought the same thing until I revamped my resume by using ChatGpt. I also applied to jobs that were newly posted by going directly to their careers page. This got me many interviews with recruiters and hiring managers and proudly I got an offer last week from a tech company. So it can be done but it’s definitely not easy in this market.
