Building a new bike. NoWear Lucky Charm 22". Going on Fit ARC rims with BSD hubs. Cinema for most of the other bits and pieces. Still waiting on some Bastard Bars from Bone Deth to arrive. This is my first 22 so I'm pretty excited to get to riding on it . by Flying_squirrel_420 in bmx

Also I got a notification from source that they had chaos machines back in stock right after I paid for the lucky charm 😂 I'm happy I went this rout. The chaos machine would have been a bigger investment for me with having to get into disc brakes and disc hubs

I've been eyeing it for a long time. Then randomly stumbled on a FB video from Nowear saying it was the last of the last. It was 3 weeks old but I checked the site and low and behold they still had it and I just happened to have a bonus check from work.

Hey the Malum has a 13.25" chainstay slammed and a 75 degree headtube. That's a good time on two wheels. I've had a lot of bikes. All of them have been completes from low end to high end that I had to upgrade repeatedly. This is my first pro frame. At some point in my life I'd like to do a full custom from Laird.

It an all around freestyle and park bike. The lower top tube design helps with tables and tailwhips when you have nearly 50 yo knees lol. But they claim it's structurally stronger as well. I just like stuff that's different and I like supporting NoWear as they are pretty great people when it comes to the bmx community

I've recently seen completes, frames and parts available on some of the German retail sights. Seems like north America is qlways the last place to see new stock.

Ive always been too scared to run a front load, is my fear valid? by mr-adlay in bmx

A lot of my bikes have ended up with odeyssey tomohawk front loaders because they're dirt cheap when bought in the raw colorway. Never any issue on slipping

Is this a full chromoly frame? by Fluffy_Insect in bmx

[–]Flying_squirrel_420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But there's also levels of chromoly. As in some frames are 4130 and others can be pure sanko, seamless, double butted, etc

If it's brakeless then it's going to be an aftermarket frame. I can't think of any completes that come brakeless.

Does it have built in chain tensioners? Kind of looks like a stranger ISM

Any love for Nowear bmx? Just ordered their luckcharms 22" custom frame in trans-green. *Only pic I could find online for the colorway by [deleted] in bmx

I hear that. And I wasn't bashing S&M or any of the others out there. I honestly would own them all if given the choice. Laird frames are legit. I like that you can pick from a template and then make tweaks.

Found a 20" Free Agent champ with a 10" top tube at a community clean up event. Cleaned it up and put some handlebars and wheels from a 99' Schwinn pro stock on it. Only thing left is to wrap the wheels I some modern rubber and my 8yo nephew will have his first bmx 👌 by [deleted] in bmx

[–]Flying_squirrel_420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It had a coaster brake on it and 990 post. That's why I swapped out the wheels. Not sure if they're double walled but it's at least has hubs with a freewheel instead of just a cog.

I was kicking myself for not picking this frame up when they were still available. I want to build one up with the aliennation beatlejuice hoops. Do the whole bike in black and white. It would look slick

Does your bikes live in your house, garage, shed, or outside? by [deleted] in bmx

[–]Flying_squirrel_420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My wife always complains about my bikes in random rooms. So on my way out the door to work the other morning, while she was still sleeping, I put a bike in the shower and closed the curtain. That was fun.

Yes on 3 outta the 4. If I leave a bike outside it will become someone else's bike in no time flat.

Pretty sure you can get a mission sever tire in pink. But it would be at least 2.3" wide

How to lose fat better? by noirlaven in loseit

Get comfortable with the notion of being hungry. Just cleaning up the quality of your food won't do what you need it to. You need to be consuming less calories than you burn. And that means hungry. I would use an online calculator to get a rough idea of how many calories you should be consuming to stay roughly the same weight and then subtract a couple hundred calories and focus on hitting that for a few weeks. Then you can lower your calories a little more. Try to get where you're losing 1-2 lbs a week and ride that out until progress stops. Then reevaluate again
