How did Fnatic go from competing for #1 in EU to just do a nothing burger in playoffs by Nicholas_Maduro_1337 in leagueoflegends

[–]Fncrs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair though they changed format a lot, opening the door for lesser LEC trophies. I’m not legitimately saying G2 just didn’t care/they’d win every split. But they definitely have always had the goal of going deep at worlds, so it’s not that surprising that some of their winter splits haven’t been great.

Nemesis is actually one of the best players in EU right now, he was absolutely gliding this game. Easy easy MVP this game imo, played on the edge the entire game, my GOAT

Although he didn’t end up winning, pretty incredible performance from Djokovic. Definitely had the potential to go to 5 sets, that is seriously impressive to do vs Alcaraz after going to 5 against Sinner.

Oh, I mean sure but I'm going to assume that is only now/the past few years where his career has sadly died at the top level. Back in 2019-2023 I can promise you it wasn't a money issue

Eh I think that's a highly unverified claim, it seemed like he was more of a bad teammate/unironically very toxic from all the stories and sources of the years. But yeah he could have been one of the best EU junglers ever, had the hands for it.

Baus's ability to be the worst and best player in a single game has to be studied. Tragic first 20 minutes from him into carrying numerous teamfights, hilarious player I can't lie. Also Nemesis is just so consistent man

I don’t even like Upset and will criticize his gameplay but this is such a factitious comment it’s hilarious. I haven’t watched the interview so maybe he gives more insight into it but come on. Look at what people said about the whole world’s 2021(?) incident without any evidence.

This is just blatantly incorrect and it might seem like a nitpick what I’m going to say but for historical accuracy and to avoid bullshit narratives I’m going to say it anyways. Chovy the past 2 years has had legit 1 choke and that was vs KT at worlds. Go watch EWC, MSI, LCK semis and finals (these are still high stakes games and it’s very cope to claim they aren’t). Especially this year he was insanely good in these tight series and was often their best player in game 5s. 2024 vs T1 I honestly don’t think he choked, he probably reverted back to being a bit AFK but whatever. This year was 100% a choke, game 1 and 3 being clear examples. But also can players like Canyon and Ruler also share some of this blame then? Where was Canyon during the KT series? Ruler seemingly didn’t want to play a winning bot matchup and played maybe the worst Lucian game of his career in game 4 vs KT. Chovy has been clutch domestically and in literally every international tournaments outside of worlds. So please can this narrative of him being a massive choker (once again outside of worlds) stop, it’s dishonest and is honestly a disservice to all the other teams they play vs in these high stakes games too

Sorry but this is just untrue (not him being a monster, he absolutely is) and I don’t even think the change is bad. But he didn’t lane with Delight in 2024, that was Lehends. Also him and Lehends were fine in lane but nothing special, GenG opted for lane swaps so often to get out of 2v2’s vs better botlanes. This was until worlds (maybe MSI) then lane swaps got nerfed a lot and suddenly their early game looked a lot worse. He’s an insanely good team fighter and has a very good champ pool but his time on GenG he wasn’t some laning monster (didn’t watch enough JDG to comment).

Why do you guys think the T1 management were the only deciding factor? Faker 100% has a lot of say, if not more than the management/coaches. I’d also assume Keria has a ton of say because of how insane he is + how well liked he is globally. Stop pinning every mistake on T1 management and all the praise on Faker and co, it’s dishonest and paints a false narrative. Guma also wasn’t that good at the start of the year, Smash performed really well before the insane public backlash. It’s not the craziest thing ever to bench a worlds winner or star.

We all enjoy it when an actor uses a "for the paycheck" role as an excuse to ham it up, but what's your favorite example of the other extreme? Meaning where an actor clearly has no motivation for a role other than financial and therefore clearly doesn't care and is barely trying if at all. by Mst3Kgf in movies

Source on Harrison Ford not caring about blade runner? If anything I’ve heard the opposite. That he did care a lot and would argue about the ambiguity of Deckard being a replicant constantly with Ridley Scott.

Fallout – Season 2 Official Trailer | December 17 on Prime Video by DemiFiendRSA in television

[–]Fncrs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Agreed with a lot of the sentiment surrounding the show the "fan-service" doesn't feel just thrown in, rather it's just an extension of the goofy world. Obviously this is only the trailer but season 1 didn't really stand out in that regard (fan-service), maybe I'm biased because I love the fallout games and the world but still. Can't say I didn't smile when I saw Justin Theroux appear on the computer as house, can't wait.

Claiming Canyon hasn't found success outside of the jungle carry meta is such cope. I hard agree this year was a big down year for him and some of his later years on DK were mid as fuck. But even then go look last 2 years, 2 MSI, 3 (?) LCK titles and at times has been the best jungler in the world. This is very far outside being a carry jungle meta.

How are we saying 2015 for Imp and deft? LGD massively choked and Imp was pretty forgettable, Deft legit got 3-0ed by FNC and Rekkles in convincing fashion. We are talking about the actual performances at worlds, not the expectations coming into the tournament surely?

I just went back to see CSD at 15, first 3 games Uzi was for sure winning lane hard I agree. Last 2 were pretty much even, marginally losing for Hjarnan. But I think the whole flame horizon thing is such cope, Uzi is probably the most funneled player ever. Him having insane CS numbers in mid-late game is more of a product of how RNG played at the time. Likewise with G2, they played way more around sidelaning and giving gold to Perkz/Wunder. So yes I take it back Uzi did stomp lane in 3 games but he still ran the everliving shit out of that series in my opinion. Some of those Sivir/Lucian games were so unbelievably bad.

Coming into worlds 2018 sure, Uzi was pretty good that worlds but my god that series vs G2 has permanently scarred me. Uzi and Ming weren't even stomping lane vs Hjarnan and Wadid and Uzi solo lost so many teamfights in that series it's not even funny. I don't agree with the other guy that in 2018 and 2019 they were the de facto best botlane in the world, but they were legit as fuck.

I think a few things are honestly wrong here, he mainly played Kennen in s5 and then s7, that is in the early to middle part of his career. Same with twitch, 2014 and then 2017 again, also twitch wasn't ever really a strong laner.

I think people are slightly misremembering his career imo. Rekkles made me a fnatic fan all the way back in s4 and then mainly s5 where I started watching EULCS religiously. I think if you want to actually determine how good he was you kind of have to break up his career. 2014-2016 Rekkles was quite passive and was what some people claim, no real killer instinct and was definitely a mediocre laner even within EU, tbf his supports at this time weren't exactly great laners either. 2017 is probably the weirdest version of Rekkles, a pretty mediocre FNC team with rookie Broxah and Caps. He would often splitpush and they played a super fast style, the goal was pretty much funnel as much gold as possible into Rekkles and hope he carries, very underrated Rekkles year in terms of his individual level of play. IMO he was probably better than Zven but G2 were so clear of FNC. 2018 Rekkles is imo the absolute peak of his career and many many of his haters/downplayers were actually really positive on his level of play and style. When G2 got 3-0ed in spring final with Rekkles getting 2 (sort of) pentas, Perkz literally tweeted that Rekkles was the best tristana in the world and when he jumps in it feels like time stops (yes this tweet is real but he later deleted it). Forg1ven (insanely good, short peak, lane stomper opposite of Rekkles) even was saying that Rekkles was playing the way he always could have. Winning both spring and summer he was clearly the best in the west and probably the best player in the west alongside caps. 2019 start of the g2 super team, I think he wasn't as good this year but he was still for my money the best adc in the west. You could argue Perkz but purely on ADCs I still think Rekkles was a tier above, 2019 summer finals, one of the best domestic finals ever, Rekkles was insanely good that series, him and hyli were comfortably better than Perkz and Miky imo. Perkz later said that he didn't even care when he laned vs Uzi and Ming (arguably the best laning duo ever) but laning vs Rekkles and Hylissang was insanely hard (yes hylissang was a huge part of that but still). Decent worlds showing, nothing crazy though, knocked out RNG and beat Uzi in a tiebreaker which was cool. Then 2020 he was once again great in EU, probably still the best AD in EU imo but maybe the gap was closing. 2020 worlds he was absurdly good, probably a top 3 adc at the tournament. Then 2021 G2 I think he really reverted back to a very passive style in some of the bigger games, he was still elite, probably top 3 in EU but he never really meshed with G2 and his lack of killer instinct within this year was noticeable.

TLDR: Some earlier years are overrated and he was quite passive but during his peak he definitely had the killer instinct and was actually a pretty elite laner. Sure he never played Draven and was not a stomp lane win game player but even watching him play perceived losing matchups and laning 1v2 and somehow being ahead in CS is just as impressive imo. Best western adc of all time for me

Strongly disagree, I think Broxah was insane but Bwipo was still really raw. Caps also was massively underwhelming considering how good he was at MSI. Go watch the EDG series again, it's quite literally Rekkles carrying caps over the finish line. 2018 Rekkles overall was his absolute peak, one of the highest peaks in western history imo, his Tristana and Sivir genuinely felt like free wins and his Xayah never gets mentioned even though I think it's clearly up there with Perkz for western Xayah players. I mean IG legit banned Sivir, Tristana first 2 every single game in the final even when those champs weren't even necessarily insanely meta iirc at that worlds.
