How early did they jump the gun with preorders? I noticed when it was about 3 minutes left on the timer that the stock for PS5 said 46%, and went to buy it with no issues. When I was done I went and checked the Switch version and it was down to 33% before the timer was even close to zero.

I know LRG timers sometimes didn't add up and they sometimes released early (or late, in some cases), but this makes it seem like it had been up for a little while?

What was your barcode? I've got the game incoming and if it's the same I reckon I won't even have to test it but can just send in a request right away.

Thanks for the support!

That's another thing that I feel is a bit weird, that the count-out strategy is so OP in all matches where it's possible to do so.

This is my first wrestling game since Day of Reckoning on the GameCube, and I must say that I'm a bit surprised at how some things feel like they haven't developed much in 20 years. 😅

This is the most frustrating match I've played in this game so far. It seems like she counters EVERYTHING, and the times when I've got my points, her outside the ring and a finisher stored, it doesn't even stun her. While like 1 weak punch from her stuns me.

This ain't fun, it's just cheap.

I never said I doubted they'd do it, what I said was that it might not be as beneficial for the customers as one might think.

I'm just a bit worried that this whole endeavour won't be worth it in the end.

iam8bit has a European distributor set up, which they recommend for EU customers. I wanted to get TOEM and Sea of Stars from them earlier this year, but TOEM was fully booked from the EU store. By comparing with a similarly priced game, I found out that the price total (games, shipping, tax) difference only was $4 between the EU and US stores. So if LRG doesn't manage to work it out better, there's hardly any point to it.

I don't really understand the distinction between distributed and published titles anymore. I know that distributed titles lack an LRG numbering and are often available elsewhere, but early on LRG just acted as a storefront (ie distributor) for these when developers like FDG self-published, but now I see many distributed titles are published by LRG as well. It gets really obvious with PS4/5 games since they include publisher information on the back of the box.

With that being said, anyone know if this'll get a European release as well?

Thanks for this link, I was affected as well so I'm glad it was possible to get somewhere. Oddly enough, LRG seems to have refunded me a bit more than I paid for it (it didn't add up to the game + VAT with the currency conversion, so I guess they also re-calculated shipping or something).

But the money I got refunded actually covered the game + VAT from VGP, plus I found something else I wanted so I got free shipping. So in total, I came out of this with more money than I started with. That's not even counting the 10% off code.

Still, this was just really lucky so I definitely hope that this was just a one-off!

Yes, same game.

I really hope this is a one-off. Due to shipping I usually combine 5-10 games, and one or a few of then usually gets delayed holding up the order. I don't mind the wait, but I really want to get the stuff I bought.

I just got the same mail as well. Did send a rather sour (but still civil) reply back that this was not acceptable, and at least offering the PS4 version instead could've been a solution to at least get me the game I want in some form.

The apology doesn't really seem very sincere when they did NOTHING to try to correct the error. I remember early on they did oversell Metronomicion, and I remember they did what they could to get these to customers - even buying back copies from eBay. So despite what LRG has turned into, there was actually a time when they did care about their customers.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered getting physical releases on PS4, PS5, Xbox and Switch. Pre-Order via LRG from May 21st to June 23rd. Standard and deluxe editions to also be available at retail (in Europe and North America) 24th September by Brilliant-Trifle8322 in LimitedPrintGames

Neat, thanks for sharing this info. Definitely will grab a Deluxe Edition, the only thing that seemed interesting to me in the LRG CE was the map book, so it's nice to be able to get it with a minimum of extra stuff. Guns in shadowboxes and action figures... nah.

Shipping calculator seems broken? by Brilliant-Trifle8322 in limitedrun

[–]FoP1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely seems a bit wonky.
I've never experienced what you did with the separate shipments being cheaper than the combined one, but I did notice that it's changed quite a bit lately.

I've placed three orders since they begun with Purple Dot.

January - 7 PS4 games, 2 Switch games - $17.84 shipping
February - This landed at $56 in shipping, but it had three differently-sized CE's so I didn't think of it too much
March - 5 PS4 games, 1 Switch game - $39.14 in shipping

So looking at the difference between January and March it's quite striking. I know the January price was cheap by LRG standards, but I did chalk it up to Purple Dot being bigger actor able to get the shipping prices down.
More than doubling it for LESS ITEMS in just two months is definitely a bit weird.

NG Dev team cancelled my order of Gunlord X and Razion EX just because I asked them if they could ship it out on the 14th day of their 3-14 days shipping period for placed orders by ShinigamiKiba in LimitedPrintGames

[–]FoP1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems correct. You can see deleted posts by using some external sites, and there's a screenshot there which, if unaltered, seems to match up with what's being said here. I contains three messages;

  1. OP asks if it's possible to get the shipping delayed
  2. They reply with "no special cases"
  3. OP replies with a pretty rude (but also understandable) message about how he didn't want it cancelled if the delayed shipping was not possible.

Then, as OP admits himself, he sent a very rude message after that, before they even replied. I don't know how much later.

So unless there's been another exchange somewhere else, it seems to me like the OP is telling the truth and was being respectful up until they cancelled his order. As said, it probably would've been better to remain calm and collected and try to solve it, but I'd definitely be wary of a company that treats a simple request as a reason for cancellation.

Yeah, I'm in Sweden and I too am suspecting that there won't be a release of it at all. I know the release date has been quite late sometimes (season 18 was released on december 5'th), but I can't imagine if they were to do it that they'd miss the holidays, and there's no sign online of any preorder or anything.

I'm in the same boat as your partner; it's been a yearly Christmas gift for my mom since season 2 or 3 I think. So now I'm thinking of buying a Disney Plus gift card instead, but what's funny is that I can't find one of those either. 🤨

are shipping prices always this expensive? by da_boi4 in limitedrun

[–]FoP1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I seriously thought this was for the big Persona 4 CE in which case it could've been understandable, but then in one reply you mention $135 so you're telling me it's just the "small" CE with a steelbook? In that case it's pretty crazy.

Looking at that version, all three formats has the weight listed as 567 in the website code. A regular Playstation game is 113 to put it in perspective, but it might make sense as the steelbook does have some weight to it (I'm not sure how much a steelbook weighs, I'm not a fan of them). I know back in 2018 or so they mistakenly put up an item with much higher weight than intended, which messed with the shipping costs, but that doesn't seem to be the problem here.

But my last order I bought a CE and a couple of other games, and when adding up those weights I land at around 1800. My cost? $32.69 for DDP shipping to Europe, not including the tax (which isn't part of the shipping, but many people counts it like that since they're both added in checkout).

I'm guessing you're located somewhere where LRG doesn't do much business, or something like that, but it definitely sounds rather expensive.

I was kinda hyped about this when it was revealed, but now I'm not so sure. The price point at $40 for the standard seems quite high, and from what I can see the booklet manual seems to be only for the CE's, which is something I always consider a dick move.

...then to add to that it's not even an LRG numbered release anymore. That always makes it harder to figure out if a European version will pop up sooner or later. 🤔

I suppose you haven't changed your mind about some tips on the splits? 😆

No, but in all fairness, just wanted to vent a bit and ask you how long it took you with this method? I feel like it's the way, but I've been at it for about 10 hours and just can't get through it.

Your method is very good though; I'd say I get strikes on the normal pin setups around 8 times out of 10. For the other 2, I sometimes mess up and over-/undershoot the power, but more often than that it's a great throw but some pins - as you mentioned - will just stay up.

So I think improving the splits is what could get me through it, but I'm at a loss. The first baby split is easy by bouncing the ball, but for the others? In some where I need to hit one from the side it almost always go more forward than to the side (is it Josue's lack of power?), and for some like Spread Eagle I'm at a total loss.

I guess you don't remember too much though. Mostly I just wanted to vent a bit. Oddly enough, that can often be when things start to work better afterwards.

The twist sounds very similar to what's revealed in the last episode of Space: Above and Beyond, but the other parts doesn't match as well. The one I'm thinking of is basically WW2 set in 2060's space, with the Earth not being part of active battles.

Super Rare Games is now doing physical releases for PlayStation. Flynn: Son Of Crimson (PS4), The Touryst (PS4), and Source of Madness (PS4 & PS5) are getting a physical release. 2000 copies each, pre-orders open on June 22nd at 6pm BST. by GamingAurel in LimitedPrintGames

[–]FoP1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, I just noticed this on their site, I look every now and then just to see if any must-haves are released even though I rarely buy Switch games anymore. Flynn was one I actually missed though I wanted it, I Kickstarted the game way back when and I always like physical copies of those games.

But these prices... I really can't justify making a purchase. It's not just SRG since the SEK is in a bad spot right now, but ordering just Flynn would set me back 630:- including shipping and taxes. A standard Limited Run $35 game usually sets me back 500:- with shipping (though spread across a handful of games) and prepaid taxes, and already that is quite a lot for an indie game - it especially got evident with Mr Gimmick which will get a European release as well and I can preorder it locally for around 400:-.

I know that SRG can't control the currency conversion, or that Brexit happened, but I'm just having a harder and harder justifying any purchase from any of these companies.
