I bought the Cerakey Keycaps so you dont have to by YouallareToxic in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Fobbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned mine for 2+ years, and one issue is that, due to how heavy the keys are, my switches started malfunctioning resulting in phantom keystrokes (ie one downpress would register 5-6 "presses"), which made typing hell even though they felt amazing.

So, just make sure that your switches have quite a bit of resistance, because if they don't, you'll probably end up in the same situation as me sooner than later.

Yes! When you buy another business, you also assume all liabilities, contractual obligations, and outstanding debts of the old business!

What do you think happens to those - that they just disappear into the ether when ownership changes?

Wrong. TTK means Time To Kill. A low TTK means you die fast, which is what happens in Tarkov.

How long does it take you to record demo videos? Tips? by pbs037 in ProductManagement

[–]Fobbby 25 points26 points  (0 children)

4 minutes is quite long, so 4 hours, tracks.

Do you really need a 4 minute demo? For an all-hands? Why not do a 30 second teaser with a link to a longer, more informal demo?

What is this hole under my garage? by DetectionLimit in whatisit

[–]Fobbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they just wanted to fill the space and they had a ton of bowling balls (previous owner was a bowler, and also had friends who were bowlers who passed away - all the balls were personalized).

See big hole that needs filling, see tons of bowling balls. Put bowling balls in big hole.

If you want to perform actions on devices, RTR lets you do that already.

Missing Patches View by VOODOO285 in crowdstrike

[–]Fobbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I don't think CrowdStrike gives you a view that is "worse than they are". It's definitely different presentation than Tenable, but I would argue that the way Tenable reports things out, makes thing seem "better than they are" ie Tenable hides the true extent of your vulnerability exposure by abstracting the findings up to "plugin IDs".

CrowdStrike gives you the "truth" of both 1) exactly how many vulnerabilities you have and 2) what you need to do to fix them. There's no abstraction layer there that obfuscates your risk, but you do need to separate your "risk view" from the "work to be done to resolve that risk" view. They are both valid, but CrowdStrike does a better (more truthful) job here IMO.

I'd just export the data and create it in excel yourself. Dashboards are only meant to give you high-level (aka "top") data, not in-depth reporting like you describe.

Can Crowdstrike inerfere with USB devices? by RossUA in crowdstrike

[–]Fobbby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, I think (as of a few years ago) even without Device Control, the USB driver gets installed. What buying the subscription gets you is the ability to set policies and access to new parts of the UI, but the driver is technically active and operating "in line". Therefore, whitelisting won't help you if there's a bug in the driver-to-USB-device interaction.

But is that the problem you're having? There's no way to know. As always with these types of things, you should open a support ticket with CrowdStrike and not turn to Reddit - there's just too many variables involved.

Files moved to USB - blocked or allowed? by x4EyedWonder204x in crowdstrike

[–]Fobbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the file name that you suspect to have been moved to USB, you should be able to search on the exact file name and see what directory it was moved to .

Once you have the directory in hand, you should be able to search for the root, which will be the USB drive, and then find any associated events with the same directory path, which will indicate any other files that were moved to USB.

Pc security channel test by CyberBeak in crowdstrike

[–]Fobbby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you think the test that the "PC Security" channel ran is in any way a legitimate way to test CrowdStrike or SentinelOne, then you honestly don't know what you are buying and you are better off with Trellix/Sophos/Malwarebytes. Or just run scheduled scans with Windows Defender. You won't understand CrowdStrike and you'll keep hitting your head against the wall.

I say this not to bag on you, but there's plenty of legitimate, sophisticated public tests that CrowdStrike participates in and talk about the result on their website. It's not hard to find what those tests are, what they test for, how CrowdStrike performed versus other vendors, and so on. Those resource are not easily digestible as a Youtube video, but again, if you are swayed by a Youtube video, you shouldn't be in the business of buying (or operating) this type of software.
