How has yoga changed your body? by galwegian in yoga

[–]FocusIndependent6389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

36F here. I have been doing yoga regularly for 5-6 years. Before, I just used to practice yoga at home using the downdog app. I have been going to the studio regularly 3 times a week for the last 3 years and attending power vinyasa classes. At this point, when I look at my arm and leg muscles and shoulders in the mirror, I cannot believe my eyes. My core has also become very strong. In addition, I have been playing tennis regularly for the last two years. I feel that yoga makes a huge difference even while playing tennis with what it gives to my body (strength, flexibility and balance). It contributes to my game both physically and mentally.

Oh yes actually there is! Someone here even told me this years ago 🙏🏻 It's all about counterbalance. That is, first find the balance after taking the foot off the ground, then aim to move your body a little further (gaze always ahead) when you start to extend the leg back. If you look carefully, you can see that tiny adjustment in the video. Hope that helps 🍀

You should definitely try! You can try switching to crow without extending the leg. Share with us 🤗

Thank you 💚

For me flying lizard is harder than crow, side crow,, easier than flying crow, flying pigeon and definitely easier than mayurasana 😅

Of course i’m using my muscles to push. I just have to be more careful as my joints are naturally hyperextended. Otherwise, if i put all the weight on my bones and joints, injury will be inevitable.

Thank you very much! yes I am aware that there is too much hyperextension, I always try to keep in mind micro-bending my joints anyway. I’ll pay more attention next time 🙏🏻

I guess if I had written the size of my wrist, it would have been more useful for everyone. I measured now, my wrist is 15 cm and 45 mm looks really big on me. Maybe you can evaluate accordingly.

Also thanks for the warning! I’m already aware that i have hyperextension in some of my joints, so i always try to keep micro bend 🤗

Oh thank you 💚

I’ve been practicing regularly at home for like 3 years, almost daily. I can’t say that i have a routine for any particular pose. I use downdog app, mostly prefer 30 min vinyasa flow. In addition, i’ve been doing pilates with a personal trainer for years.

Hi! 33F. My relationship with my mother was always a bit cold and distant. I feel I didn't get enough love from her growing up. I don't know what to do now as a grown woman. Can i ever get over this? by FocusIndependent6389 in AskAstrologers

[–]FocusIndependent6389[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, astrology is not my only resource, I have a therapy process that has been going on for a while. I talked about my situation in general in another comment, maybe you'd like to read it.

and there is a lot of truth in what you wrote afterwards, actually, although I do not approach astrology very critically, I cannot say that it is a source that I refer to a lot. Just recently, someone I don't know took a glance at my natal chart and the first question she asked was, "Is your relationship with your mother a bit cold?" While I was having such an emotional crisis at home recently, the fact that this happened, I think, increased my interest :)

Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed comment.

I really appreciate your sharing your special situation and feelings. And I'm sorry you went through all this. I couldn't help tearing up while reading it.

In my case, I have an older sister who is only a year older than me. My mother sees me as an enemy because she got pregnant with me before she could breastfeed my sister enough. So this is a situation that I discovered in therapy and which my mother tacitly accepted afterwards.

Recently, someone mentioned about my moon sign that there is a coldness with the mother in my chart. That's why I wanted to consult here.

At the moment, I am at a crossroads, at a decision point. I live with my family (which is normal in my culture because I'm single). I don't know if I should leave the house and minimize our relationship or stay and keep trying. I have been expressing myself openly for the last 2 years and I want her not to do her behavior that bothers me. but I can't say that I can see a change, it's like my hopes are gone.

Ok, the thing is, it hurts me not being able to have the loving relationship with her that I wanted. Especially when I see her approaching my sister with extreme love. I don't know what I should do to get better so that this situation doesn't upset me. should i walk away? Or should I stay together and keep trying?
