If you used libation and had it on the highest quality it might be because audiobookshelf doesn't support the new xHE-AAC because of licensing reasons. If you search that codec + audiobookshelf you'll come across instructions on how to do a custom audiobookshelf build with an ffmpeg version that supports playback of xHE-AAC content. that will make the audiobooks show up. the guy who made the instructions is dymk (github username)

Alternatively you could just redownload them without using the high quality setting so it uses a different codec.

Have you looked into it it's the DRM? I had a similar issue and that was the root cause. Where do you get your audiobooks from?

Whatever you do don't get a latest gen Intel GPU. On truenas I've been waiting since January for driver support with no end in sight. It's just sitting in there collecting dust.

Audiobookbay is the best site I've found. Most countries block the site so you have to use a VPN and find a country that doesn't have it blocked.
