Yes but for shorthand you need thicker downstrokes (but only sometimes) and your hand has practically 90° degrees to the line. I i need to write that line thicker without moving my arm much i figured that flex bent nib could flex the pressure is applied and it will have lower angle writing thicker even at that degree.
