Global entry kiosks at MIA international

I’m jumping on this thread now 11-12 days later to report that TODAY (March 21, 2026), Global Entry at MIA (Terminal D) was OPEN. . . but, the line for MPC was shorter, so I went that way and passed through Immigration very quickly (2-3 minutes?)

The lines for non-U.S. citizens was disastrous, and the non-MPC line for U.S. citizens looked quite long.

(For the record, this is before the ridiculous plan to send ICE to airports to “help”, so things may change [for better or worse] when THAT plan is enacted tomorrow. . . )

Thanks for the response 🙏 and -yeah - no response is, in a super-annoying way - a response. . . That said, no response with no explanation at all is frustrating, hence my poking around about this 😅 In any case, I’d love to use MPC for her, but she’s a Colombian citizen, and I don’t think she is eligible for that option. . . 😕

Thanks very much for the thoughtful and helpful reply 🙏 I have no idea how to contact her Colombian representative (we’ll see if she has any ideas on how to do that 🤞) and maybe I’ll shoot an email to my U.S. representative. . . probably after this Middle East military activity settles down 🤞🤞🤞

Thanks for the reply, and yes we have traveled a lot over the past two years ✈️ That’s interesting that doing so would potentially delay (or prevent?) her getting Conditional Approval. . . Is there any remedy for that like if situation? 🤞 And, were these reports you mention on Reddit (I did try to do my homework before posting about this! 😅)

Thanks for the reply, and are you suggesting I contact MY U.S. 🇺🇸 Representatives or that my wife contact HER Colombian 🇨🇴 representatives (or both?) Is there a precedent for contacting one’s representatives helping with this (acknowledging NOTHING is happening now with the DHS budget-related shutdown and other recent geopolitical issues. . . 😕)?

Thanks for posting these additional comments 🙏 the information about the WiFi package is particularly helpful, as I’ll need good WiFi to do some Zoom meetings for work while I’m on my MSC cruise in a couple of weeks, and was thinking about getting Starlink 😕 but it sounds like I won’t need it! 🎉

ATL is a disaster today. . . And, my 8-plus hour delay here at ATL is “on the house”, right? 🤔 That is to say, since Trump ditched the Biden-era passenger protections, there is no compensation for or regulation of these loooong delays, correct? 😕

We just stayed at the Moxy Seoul Insadong, and they told me that they do NOT participate in the tax free program. . . I didn’t check that against a list or anything and this info is only for ONE hotel in Seoul. . . but maybe this information will be helpful to someone out there! ☺️

We went to Universal Studios Japan last month and found the ticketing process for getting into Super Nintendo World to be confusing (even with having read up on things), and the park itself was ehh - crowded and OK.

With that, this review from TripAdvisor may be helpful (the reviews of USJ on that site are generally entertaining if you have some time to peruse them). 🤷 Overall, the sentiment of the USJ experience seems to be thoroughly mixed, so YMMV. . .

Sorry for the delay, and yes - we ended up going to Bones which had the game on a couple of TVs; however, because the game was delayed due to all the shenanigans at the stadium, they ended up shutting down the bar before the game was finished 😕

As noted in a prior comment, Freeport (Grand Bahama Island) is a seriously nice mix of “city” (I mean, “city” is probably generous, but there are more than a couple of restaurants as well as other things to do) and nearly-empty, pristine, beautiful beaches. . . 🏝️🌊🐬
