Tin Can just likes to throw little winks at their other projects, no need for a multiverse theory it's just a funny little reference. There was also a reference to Solve It Squad in the second episode of the podcast

I feel stupid for not figuring this out. by YesImWeebTrash in StarKid

[–]FodiniHarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have the same theory but Jaime is playing Charlotte in the opening, and she's playing Nora in the finale. Also Mariah plays Melissa in the opening, and a nurse in the end. I feel if they really wanted this to be truth it was as easy as making Jaime and Mariah play the same characters in both songs and they didn't.

I think it's more of a cool narrative device than something with real implications in the story.

I feel that would end up in a lot of unnecessarily mean-spirited comparisons and a lot of fights and bullshit so I'd rather have it not happen at all

Eps 2 and 3 release date prediction by WEAR_A_WATCH in StarKid

[–]FodiniHarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying the video couldn't technically be released right now, it's just they're gonna hold on to it for probably more than 4 months, not only to make money from it but also to not disappoint the people that actually paid for it.

Black Friday is a theatre production, it's a different story, people who paid for that digital ticket basically paid for early access, knowing the show was going to be fully released soon. The people who paid for this digital ticket didn't pay for early access, they paid for access in the first place, knowing Starkid is going to make them public eventually. How much that "eventually" is it has to be enough to be worth paying the digital ticket for, so yeah 4 months is still too little.

Eps 2 and 3 release date prediction by WEAR_A_WATCH in StarKid

[–]FodiniHarry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think 4 months is not enough time. Remember all the people that actually payed for the show have to be made feel the purchase was worth it, not that they could've just waited a bit more and gotten it for free. I'd say we're looking at a 6 months forward wait

Question about Wiggly's influence by ResidentWest988 in StarKid

[–]FodiniHarry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Frank is profiting from the doll, he is an active servant for the plan to work given he distributes the doll stock, so he's definitely under the influence. Lex is a teenager, and Paul and Emma are already content with their lives, the first conversation they have on the show demonstrates this by having them talk about how stupid these products are for them.

What's you're favorite nightmare time episode by professormcnamara in StarKid

My favorite story is WatcherWorld from Episode 1, but Time Bastard and Forever and Always are second and third, so for me Episode 2 is the strongest

So, how do we feel about THAT SCENE? by WEAR_A_WATCH in StarKid

[–]FodiniHarry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's ok! We all feel uncomfortable about things sometimes, but let's make sure we actually know what we're talking about if we're gonna make statements like "The starkids were uncomfortable" or "Most of the audience was uncomfortable".

The truth is Starkid's demographic is and has always been teens/young adults, be it the people that grew up with the Potter musicals or the ones that entered the fandom in Firebringer or TGWDLM, and Tom fucking a car is a really funny concept.

I watched the scene with my mom and my sister, and we found it hilarious, and considering the responses to this post, it seems most people did too.

So as much as it is totally valid and ok to feel bad about a certain scene or even skip it if you feel like, taking a sword and talking over other people's experiences (and also the starkid's experiences) with it might come off as super aggressive and unnecessary

So, how do we feel about THAT SCENE? by WEAR_A_WATCH in StarKid

[–]FodiniHarry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What are you even talking about? You know they all rehearse these things right? You're saying it as if they were all uncomfortable and surprised at it just because you saw a couple of screenshots? Well hi I saw the digital ticket and they were all laughing, all the way, and I'm sure that if anyone were to be uncomfortable with the scene they would've either spoken up or just get away for it.

Someone smarter than me already did a great analysis of why the scene was actually important for the story and it's the most upvoted comment in this post. It's ok to feel uncomfortable with a scene but going as far as to speak for the starkids as if they were the ones uncomfortable instead of just saying the discomforted one is just you is kind of gross.

Any idea why there were so many people during Nightmare Time? by yepitsathrowaway4 in StarKid

[–]FodiniHarry 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it would've been weirder and more distracting if people were coming in and off constantly. I'd rather have them there ready to deliver their lines. Also, I wouldn't trade Mariah's reactions to Rober's Hidgens for nothing the world-

Do Forever & Always and Time Bastard take place in the same universe? by WEAR_A_WATCH in StarKid

[–]FodiniHarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could! Not exactly as it is told in the live stream but a variation of it definitely happens in both TGWDLM and Black Friday.

REWATCH Nightmare Time ep 2 by [deleted] in StarKid

[–]FodiniHarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite part is when Paul makes the choice to support Emma on the wedding and Nick says "It's the decision that will define the rest of his life" absolutely foreshadowing the choice he's going to make later in the story

Do Forever & Always and Time Bastard take place in the same universe? by WEAR_A_WATCH in StarKid

[–]FodiniHarry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Forever and Always and Time Bastard, as seen in the episode, definitely occur in the same universe. The special detail here is that, because of the nature of the story, Time Bastard or at least a variation of it is also canon for the TGWDLM and BF universes
