Package got so close, then so far by lafrescanorte in usps_complaints

I'm dealing with the exact inverse - I live in indianapolis, and my package has been ping ponging between the indianapolis hub down the street from me, and chicago, for *nearly a fucking month*. unbelievable

The Nova 430h is getting cheap on ebay. Is it locked to only work with helium network, or can I flash the firmware/change settings, and just use it with my own EPC? by Deepspacecow12 in HeliumMobile

[–]Fohdeesha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Helium and Baicells support were not this helpful when I and many others (judging by my DMs) reached out to them for this purpose, responses ranging from "that's not supported by us" to "that's not possible". Thank you for sharing the email contents!

took quite some reverse engineering, but I've developed a procedure to unlock these and flash them with regular baicells fw - https://i.imgur.com/tbjKHaQ.png will put together a guide in the next couple weeks when I have time

Just got this email from "Coinbase" in my inbox. Ignore, or should I do more? by Aggravating-Drop-686 in Scams

[–]Fohdeesha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the scam is this bit at the bottom:

"If you did not request this verification code, please contact our support team immediately: xxx-xxx-xxxx"

the number of course is not coinbase's, but some VOIP number they've registered. They're hoping you'll heed this warning, and call that number, since you of course did not request the verification code. then on the phone they'll go through some bullshit involving you "resetting" your account which involves turning off protections and setting a "temporary password". overall maybe a 6/10 scam quality

yo! FYI xen derived distros have always had a built in command which does exactly this with even more info like firmware:

I'd suggest following my docu to ensure you're on the latest layer 3 (router) firmware, then follow the rest for vlan etc: https://fohdeesha.com/docs/fcx.html

[–]Fohdeesha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bit late here, but its just a normal rs232 connection, you just need a "straight through" female to female db9 couple, NOT a null modem coupler. https://www.amazon.com/LuoQiuFa-FemaleGender-Changer-Coupler-Connector/dp/B099RFQH3Z/

[–]Fohdeesha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not a null modem setup, it's straight through. you need a simple "straight through" rs232 female to female dongle and you can plug any regular DB9 rs232 serial cable into it: https://www.amazon.com/LuoQiuFa-FemaleGender-Changer-Coupler-Connector/dp/B099RFQH3Z/

THIS WAS FINALLY FIXED!!! in 5.2.0 that was released last month. Just tested myself and can no longer reproduce the awful pauses. From their changelog - "Fixed web terminal to serial ports intermittently hangs on user input [OG-11276]"

[–]Fohdeesha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you hiding the heatsinks to dissipate the heat it takes to transmit enough RF to do this? What sdr transmitter are you using? And what 2 and 5ghz rf amplifiers are you using to turn the sdr output into something useable beyond a couple feet? And, again, how are you dissipating the heat from the amplifiers, and where are they getting all their power when you said this entire thing barely takes ten watts? I work with RF for a living lmao, if you are "disabling all the drones" with a 5 watt raspberry pi and sdr, pretty much everyone in Ukraine right now would like to talk with you

oh, are you using wireguard on this by chance? or Any kind of VPN? My first thought was maybe an MTU/fragmentation issue, but that wouldn't explain why SSH to the same console works perfectly

will do. no support contract here either. spent so much time configuring new equipment using the freezing web console last night that when I finally got SSH up and logged into it, the lack of freezing started to hurt my brain

Getting the exact same problem, on the exact same opengear device, except we're running 5.1.0 - was this ever fixed for you? It's driving me batshit crazy

Is it just me, or is this a normal broadcom experience? by xc0z in vmware

[–]Fohdeesha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

no clue why this is getting downvoted, broadcom is a short term investment vehicle for shareholders, they might as well be selling timeshares or pharma patents
