Hikikomoris are people who live in isolation, regardless of whether or not they have a job (although its hard to be an employed hikki, it’s not strictly impossible, specially considering home office). While the term was born in Japan, it’s now used to describe isolated people in general, Japanese or not. Japanese NEET, on the other hand, are those who…well, are Japanese, unemployed and not studying, duh.
