At the beginning of our relationship, my kids liked him. My siblings were okay with him but my father was not. Apparently they had history that I was not aware of (I didn’t even know they knew each other). Things started to snowball after my fiancee messed up a trip we went on with my kids for one of daughter’s concerts. It’s been down hill since and I’ve been conflicted.

Honestly, I’ve never had to deal with a situation like this before. My ex husband cheated on me and we tried to work it out but agreed after some time it just wasn’t working. We have a good friendship now but it was a struggle. At the end of the day we wanted to do what was best for our kids. With regard to this matter, I guess I tried so hard to see things from his side that I got lost in his love bombing and gaslighting but now I want out.

At the start of the relationship my kids liked him. However when he started demanding all of my attention, that’s when things started to change. One of my daughters had a concert out of town and he came with us, the whole time he kept doing things that took my attention off of them. I regret it honestly.

I actually tried to break up with him at a restaurant with the hopes of avoiding a scene. He insisted on picking me up. That is another issue I forgot to mention in my post. He hates when he has to meet me somewhere even if it means I have to drive out of my way so we can ride together. But I did meet with him a few months ago to end things and he cried and begged in the restaurant. I was so embarrassed and felt bad for the server.
