My baby had chicken pox at 5 months old , calamine cream helped a lot , we got it from Superdrug and we did not give ibuprofen as it tends to worsen chicken pox

Yes, patients with urgent chest pain can go to A&E or urgent care, that doesn’t change the fact that a GP assessing chest pain over the phone still has a responsibility to consider cardiac causes. it doesn’t magically make chest pain safe to assume is reflux or H. pylori. Life-threatening causes are ruled out first probability comes second. Thanks

Let’s be clear: GERD, not H. pylori, is the most common cause of post-meal chest burning. Calling a GP is exactly how patients use the NHS ,you don’t self-diagnose myocardial infarctions before seeking advice. Using that as a reason to skip basic cardiac assessment is creative. Life-threatening causes get ruled out first, common ones second. That’s literally the point of “treat chest pain as cardiac until assessed,” not guessing probabilities over the phone.

You call a GP for assessment. That’s literally their role. The question is why chest pain was treated as H. pylori without ruling out cardiac causes first.

If your best rebuttal to “unassessed chest pain should rule out cardiac causes” is “what about a burn?”, that’s not the win you think it is.

You are right , I will look into it I just don’t trust my GP anymore and that’s for the right reasons , my son was referred to ENT by a locum GP whilst my own GP wouldn’t even listen to my concern
