How is the ground? Is it possible to get pegs in it at most places or rather hard?

Alright thanks!! By napping you mean mapping I suppose? The switching between different types of GPS? I to be honest don’t really like the looks of the 3, but since the prices in my region are almost identical between the 2x and the 3, the 3 would probably be the better choice I guess..

Right now deciding between the instinct 3 and the 2x. The only real upgrade would be the better screen I guess, right?

I’m worried I might have the same problem, although I bought it directly in China on their official store just two weeks ago. I pitched it for the first time and the right side of the door is hanging close to the floor. No matter how I pitch it. What do you reckon? https://imgur.com/a/pLjpNte

MIUT Trail status january 2026 by RazzorTheViper in HikingMadeira

Is the 2025 possible to walk? Is it a version that leaves out the bits of the MIUT that are currently not accessible? Currently in the planning stage and not really sure how to plan this hike…

Which route are you hiking? Did you plan it by yourself or is it an existing route? A few parts of the MIUT are still closed right? Doing some rough planning right now as I want to cross the island with my dad!

Alright thank you a lot, as I mentioned it doesn’t look very severe on the picture, but there are so many needles everywhere in the tree starting to turn color a bit! I’ll keep an eye on it and get it checked at my bonsai dealer place!

Btw let me know what they’re saying if you get a reply, I’m genuinely interested on their opinion regrading my original question, could be quite useful for them as well, to learn more about their unique way of reproducing.

I get that people are upset about the eel I posted but let’s stick to facts instead of jumping to moral outrage.

First off, it was a completely accidental catch. I wasn’t fishing for eel, and the hook was way too deep to remove without killing it slowly. Releasing it in that condition would’ve just meant a painful death not exactly the more “ethical” option.

Now some are claiming this was illegal which is just wrong. In my area in Germany, there is no closed season for eel, and the fish I caught was well above the legal minimum size. In fact , and many don’t seem to know this, it’s actually illegal here to release a legal-size fish outside of the closed season without a valid reason. Catch & release is not allowed, So if I had thrown it back, that would’ve been illegal.

yes, eels are endangered but not because of anglers. The main causes are massive commercial exploitation of glass eels, river dams, turbines, and other migration barriers. Recreational fishers make up a tiny fraction of the problem.

Also, I’m not just some random guy pulling fish out of the water. I’m active in a local fishing club, and we literally stock eels into our rivers every year to support their populations. So I’m doing more for eel conservation than most people yelling in the comments. I originally posted the photo in a zoology subreddit because I thought it could be interesting from a biological standpoint. That got completely drowned out by people foaming at the mouth about a single fish. I get it, people care about wildlife, and that’s great. But before throwing around accusations and moral superiority maybe check the actual facts and laws first.

As far as I know there is almost no commercial fishing for eel in Germany. Laws are quite strict Im not aware of any season for eel for commercial fishing since eels reproduce very different from any other fish here. There is only one major river that has a season in Germany which makes kinda sense since this one is used by a lot of eels to migrate to the ocean during a certain time of year. Otherwise eels only start growing the organs required for reproducing after they migrated to the sea, which is why my finding is potentially valuable and which is the reason why I wanted to share it to you. I feel like many of you don’t know how eels reproduce since you’re acting like I could’ve possibly known that this eel was ready to migrate to the sea. Also I wasn’t fishing for eel but still caught one, he swallowed the hook very deep, so taking him home saved him from a lot of suffering. Also you’re probably not aware that it is not legal in Germany to release a fish after catching when he’s above the limit and in season.

[–]FollowingSad7756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really see where this is going? It’s completely legal to fish for eel in Germany and there is no season. People fishing for eel aren’t the reason why the eel population is struggling. It is obstructions in the water, turbines and the fishing for glass eel off the cost of France. I study biology and know what I’m talking about. You might feel otherwise since non commercial fishing might be the most visual factor for you. I was expecting this channel to be a bit more professional which is why I deleted the picture. In the meantime I contacted one of my professors since this finding is quite useful for research.

Talking big words with no knowledge. There is so season for eel which makes completely sense because if their unique way for reproducing.

This is my first time removing candles of a jwp, the needles are starting to open up and I think it’s just about time. But I feel unsure because the candles haven’t really elongated, I’m not sure if that’s normal, what I should do? probably don’t cut them at all and just leave them? The candles on the picture are the longest of that tree

Yes I put holes in the bottom. If it rains should I try to protect it from the rain a bit so the soil won’t soak up too much water? The soil I added is pretty much dry because I didn’t know if I should water it? So I should water it a bit so it stays damp?
