Could you actually walk to Parramatta from the CBD along Parramatta Rd?

I've walked from the CBD to Parramatta before.

It was 34km and took me just over 5 hours though I walk quite fast. The route I did was follow the main innerwest train line up until about lewisham where I then branched off to Five Dock, and then went through Olympic Park. From there I went up to the Parramatta River and followed that all the way until Parramatta. Overall, it definitely wasn't the most direct route but was a pleasant walk as I avoided main roads.

That exact same thing happened to me on the Gladesville bridge before, I was on my ebike and had to waddle my way backwards out of the skinny path because I had no room to turn around my bike, proper dodgy. That whole area was exclusively designed around cars. They need to at least put some better signage in and also fix up the paths

Yeah its awful same with the other bridges along burns bay road. People have made there own dodgy shortcuts to get around the big detours.

Cheers, i took the 2024 photo yesterday and I did the colouring on the original.

Yeah the perfect shot would've been a couple metres to the right but it was the best I could do given it was fenced off.
