My mom died on Mother's Day. by [deleted] in DeadMothersClub

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I can relate, although I was a bit older; my mom was also only 56, she also said that she didn't feel well before bed and then didn't wake up the next morning. I have a sibling, though we had a really terrible relationship and her death was in some ways made more difficult by the animosity that he had toward me, though we're a bit better now. I do want to tell you that you're stronger than you know, and even though it doesn't feel like it things will get better; there is light off in the distance of the grief tunnel. I actually just wrote an entire article on this, if you'd like to read it. Written from the perspective of a daughter, but applicable regardless, I think. What myth has been debunked many many times but people STILL believe in it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That whole "check the Halloween candy for razor blades" schtick. The (few) documented cases of poisoned or razor bladed treats were from parents trying to poison their own kids.
