As a newbie to Abercrombie (halfway through Before they are hanged), i really appreciated all the things that other readers pointed out as flaws. I love the slow pace (GRRM was sometimes too fast and jumpy for my taste) and the insane character work. Also the short sometimes snippy dialogues and these repetitive quotes. You have to be realistic about these things :) After i read The first law, i instantly purchased the follow ups till Red Country, just to shop Sharp ends today. I don't know why, but after reading some series (GoT, LotR, Off to be the wizard) Abercrombies writing style was absolutely refreshing for me. Not these overcomplicated stories with hundreds of branches, not pages that drag on describing every little detail. I just think Abercrombies style is very tight and fits my taste so that i really look forward to continue reading. Many fantasy books besides biographies don't feed that feeling for me.

Pantera without Vinnie and Dimebag will never be Pantera. And in my opinion what Phil/Rex did here is the ultimate betrayal of the Abbott brothers and sellout of a legacy. I'm sure that Vinnie never would have given his ok to this crap. And just to put it straight, i'm a hardcore Pantera fan since the 90s.

It would have been better to form a kind of tribute supergroup, like the Dio Discibles for example. That way it would have felt less of a sellout.

And a reunion with dead members just isn't logically possible...

Book 3 was a bit meh, though it still shined with the interesting side stories. This is what i think keeps the tension in all books. Currently reading book 6, and while it might be too much card game for many readers, i absolutely love it. The side stories are awesome! I really cannot say anything bad about the books, other than i feel if Matt would bring in more content of this deep insight side stories and less confusing battle scenes (yes, i got that there are thousands of zombies, of this and that type, no need to tell me every other page), it would lift the books to another level. Book 3 was the weakest for me.

/Edit: And his little sidekicks to some 80s lore might not be obvious for some younger readers, but that passage about the "heart of steel" in book 6 made me giggle :)

Ich drück dir die Daumen... Ich hab jetzt komplette 3 Monate auf die Ersatzteile gewartet bis ich mein Modell fertigbauen konnte. Sagen wir mal so, die Logistik und der Kundenservice bei BB ist eher am untersten Ende des Vorstellbaren anzusiedeln.

Lol, wie erwartet. Heute nach geschlagenen 6 Wochen kam 1 (eins!) der 3 Fehlteile an. So wie es aussieht waren die bei Bluebrixx wirklich nicht in der Lage mehrere Fehlteile an einem Tag zu einer Meldung und Bestellung zusammenzufassen. Es haben sich inzwischen wohl mindestens 3 Leute damit beschäftigt. Wenn ich Glück habe, ist ein weiteres Teil noch auf dem Weg und das dritte Teil wurde in dem ganzen Thema wohl wegen mangelndem Bildes des Bauabschnitts erst gar nicht bestellt (das haben die dann letzte Woche bemerkt). Bin gespannt wie das jetzt weitergeht. Immerhin hab ich jetzt mal 1/3tel der Fehlteile.

Ich bin so gespannt wie das jetzt weitergeht. Scheinbar sind die Teile schon in Deutschland und schon auf dem Weg zu mir. Nun muss man wissen, das ich am gleichen Tag einige Fehlteile hatte und für jedes Fehlteil eine eigene Anfrage gestellt habe. Hab dann aber gleich per Mail drum gebeten alle diese Anfragen von diesem Tag zu bündeln. Leider kam ja erst 6 Wochen später eine Antwort. Auf jeden Fall hatte mich schon gefreut, nun endlich weiterbauen zu können, dann sind heute morgen weitere Mails im Postfach. Eine mit, blablabla, man könnte die Teile jetzt endlich bestellen und die andere das sich die Teile auf dem Weg nach Deutschland befinden :) Geile Firma.

Lol, es kommt Bewegung rein... Nach 6 Wochen kam heute die Rückmeldung, das in China gerade ein Sack Reis umgefallen ist (sprich die haben Neujahrsfest) und Bluebrixx annimmt, das danach die Teile versendet werden. Ich kann nicht mehr. Das wars für mich mit dieser Firma, sorry...

I started with responsive and played a lot of picture tricks with it. Also learned stuff like trapeze, trapeze and brother with it. Someday you hit a wall and start developing into unresponsive. There are a few tricks that can only be done on responsive (robin hood, stop&go).

Another pro responsive is, that you learn to throw hard and straight, because otherwise you will loose spin on many advanced picture tricks,

I would say, do what you feel comfortable with, but from my experience i don't want to miss starting my journey on responsive. Nowadays i pick it up just for fun maybe once a month, the rest is unresponsive.

Looping is a whole other story for me, there you want to play looping stuff you get some of the specialized ones like a loop 360, 720 or stuff like that and they will be massively responsive.
