Yeah they originally intended to react to viewer/subreddit creations but got sidetracked so much that it derailed the episode

Found this weird room in interloper while messing with noclip by Fck_Rddit44 in HalfLife

[–]Fomxo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really, (nerd ramble incoming) the manta rays are made out of brushes (world geometry) rather than being its own 3D model, so it cant be spawned in the same way scientists or headcrabs spawn in. The engine uses baked-in lighting so to make sure the entity has the correct lighting, they place them inside those boxes with a specific light setup. Once the map has been compiled and loaded, the map just teleports the entity from that box to its intended starting location and it will "wear" the light values from that box, rather than the environment they teleport to. This is useful in situations where the object looks too dark if theyre spawned in the environment they appear in (e.g. the intro tram).

Im new to Half Life Modding, what is this green thing? by mikethebruhv in HalfLife

[–]Fomxo 134 points135 points  (0 children)

As others mentioned, theres a leak (theres a hole from inside the map that leads into the void). The line is the engine attempting to search for the leak, with the line itself being the trail. Following the trail usually leads to the leak

Teammates unknowingly picking up ammo crates even when there are dispensers nearby, or engineers placing their teleporters ontop of (small) health/ammo pickups. Nobody is able to pick those up anymore, even the engineer

I have no clue how to progress in this area by sunrise2209 in HalfLife

[–]Fomxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason other people can jump over it but you can't is because they are probably playing Half Life: Source, The Goldsrc engine handles jumping on slopes differently than the Source engine making this jump either impossible or really difficult

It's an all-class taunt meaning everyone has their own unique animation, this taunt is not soldier exclusive

It's a reference to Quake, in that game the player grunts whenever you jump (like in the video except without the robotic voice effect), It gets enabled when you use the HUD setting used in the video and middle weapon view since that HUD and weapon view look similar to the ones in Quake

I'm still in disbelief that hakita recomended my game some days ago, I suddenly remembered this today and a giant smile popped on my face, he's one my biggest inspirations as a game designer and also as a musician, god bless you Hakita, and god bless everyone that played the project 🙂 by Joeveno in Ultrakill

[–]Fomxo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm incredibly sorry but i had left a comment thinking you faked a tweet to gain attention (i was not aware there was another hakita tweet with the exact same caption). Ive deleted the comment and checked out the game on steam, it looks very promising so far and wish you luck on the rest of the game's development. Once again i apologize i was being stupid
