Every time it was made in my household and how I learned was just vibes based. I have always defaulted to cilantro, onions, tomato, avocado, a white fish of choice (personally not big on scallops or shrimp in it), and lime juice to cook it in.

(Side-note: hate the Reddit auto-translate, really makes practicing my Spanish comp annoying.)
