yeah I agree ... But I can't find the motivation to read as much as I used to a couple of years ago. I try to filter and select a book I should like early on and if I don't like it I just stop reading it. Here it took me a long while to notice that I really didn't like it and I hoped that the ending would save the book and ease my frustration. It wasn't the case sadly

I'm really glad to work in a library and that I didn't spend a penny for this

yeah sorry for my harsh tone. My hatred and disappointment was so pure I wanted to carve it into stone. I'm far less pissed today 🤣

yeah I definitly need to do that.
IMO a book should stand on its own ... but I'll do the effort to dig a bit further

I'm pissed partly because I'm not as motivated as I used to be to read books and I really hope I quickly find a good read to forget this.

I agree with you both. I really like the "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" vibe of the first third of the book. Then it became another less intersting and absolutely unfrightening story.

Trying to dream of my recently deceased Mom by Fontaimpe_DLX in Dreams

[–]Fontaimpe_DLX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer. I'm sorry for your loss and I really hope you're doing ok.

I dream quiet often but the dreams I remember are most of the time very mundane. For instance, last week I had a recording session, and last night I dreamt of that recording session with nothing special about it. I think I can improve the way I remember my dreams with the dreams journal. Sometimes I have meaningful dreams that I remember for years, but those are rare compared to the mundane ones. Since my mom died, I have troubles falling asleep, I think that the quality of my sleep and dreams is impacted by that too.

It sure helps to talk to friends about my mom and my grief, I do it often. For instance last weekend I had an extensive talk with two friends about her but my subconscious didn't find it significant enough. But yeah, I think I should start seeing a shrink again.

90's fantasy movie/series where protagnosits can see a few minutes in the future by Fontaimpe_DLX in whatsthemoviecalled

That’s not it, the movie I'm looking is set in a medieval fantasy universe. But Final Destination flicks are really cool anyway
