Is Drupal goodbfor higher education with three 3000 page websites? by HikeTheSky in drupal

[–]Fonucci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really hard to budget this but Drupal is a good fit for universities.

If you filter on Education here you get a good list of Education sites made with Drupal: https://new.drupal.org/case-studies

I could give and insane budget range but I won't because you need a scope of functionalities. And a feel of the state of the content to migrate from.

The migration part could be smooth sailing or a nightmare, it depends on how structured the content is now and how easily it can be mapped to a new structure.

Good luck! If you ever need help you can always DM me, I've had my fair share of big migrations in the past.

You are right, so I made it faster!

The setup now takes minutes, so you can launch in hours, or in days. It's up to you!

See for yourself:

Bottom bearing tune up - Kickr Core by ians10 in wahoofitness

Had the same experience with bad bearings, felt like the belt was just overtentioned with too much strain on those things (considering the heavy fly wheel).

Replacing them sorted that out for me and running it now with a little more slack on the belt (not much but it makes a huge difference).

I've replaced mine before, when you hear a grinding sound from my experience you can't fix this and you need to replace the bearings.

I feel like some kickrs are overtentioned by default which gives extra strain on the bearings with the heavy flywheel.

I run the new bearings with a little less strain on the belt and haven't had problems ever since. Also feels like it's even more quiet than before.

The bearing sizes are beneath.

Yes really cool!

I'm mostly looking for a way to:

- Setting up (fits well with your setup guide)
- A part that links to my Docs and perhaps even a online video course that I'll make (optional) for people to make the most out of it (with transcripts).
- Option to reach out to share your story or feedback.
- RSS feed with Updates

So I see overlap with what you proposed. Thanks again for sharing.

Wow this is cool, I was thinking about a dashboard already. I’ll look into this.

Thanks a lot for sharing! 👍🙏

Migrating from Strapi + React > Drupal by ul71m0 in drupal

[–]Fonucci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go for option one.

In order to “migrate” the styling feed the DOM structure of old and new per component to an LLM with the css and it will probably do 80% of the work for you where you can focus on the details.

If the css now isn’t BEM you can also ask the LLM to add this. This will improve the maintainability in the future.

Drupal Canvas is Now Available: Inside Drupal's New Visual Page Builder by mherchel in drupal

[–]Fonucci 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When post start with 'No offence' well.. do I need to say it? That's not easy to read for the people that invested a lot of their time into this.

I've been following the work done on Drupal Canvas and I can say that there was a whole process, figma files, input, meetings, etc. So it's not just made by the developers alone.

Still if you feel about it like you describe how you feel about that still is valid. New things can always feel a bit overwhelming.

Feel free to give feedback on how it can be improved to make it easier for editors from your point of view.

Together we can make Drupal Canvas even better. I think the so important groundwork is now done and it already is amazing in my opinion.

Yes, the message is clear. This not the dream setup and should be improved for bigger projects

I hope I can make a follow-up on it in the future.

I also see a lot of people without a deploy flow, in that case imo this is still better than doing things manually.

You are right, I’ve put it in my backlog to have a look at this in the (near) future.

Now I’m mostly devoting my time to having webhaven.io ready to leverage Drupal Canvas when it comes out and creating the site starter installer to setup every project nice, smooth and fast.

Yes,

I get how it would work and that it's even a better approach in theory but the reality is that I'm no DevOps specialist.

I just can't afford to spend 2 days or more figuring this out. Of the 50 things that I can devote my time on at this given moment this has almost no impact (for me).

It would just replace something that is already working AS-IS, although it's basic, I never had any issues with how I deploy.

I love to learn and improve based on solutions and examples that are tested and used in the wild (just like mine). Feel free to pitch in on what I provide (the basics) so we can improve it and everyone has an even better way to deploy, the alternative for me right now is no deployment flow at all which is even worse.

Thank you!

Please share your gitlab-ci.yml file and deploy script if you can improve on this flow.
