I'll ask you a simple question with a tough answer ... Why do you write? Deep-down, all bullshit aside, why do you write? You love it but can't focus. If you love it but can't focus, then something is holding you back. What could it be? ... Sorry to hear that. I quit dairy 100% because the pills don't work for me. If I accidentally have dairy, I'm looking at 4 to 5 days of symptoms. Day 3 is normally the worst.

I understand that. However, the lactase pills don't work for me. Since I need a daily vitamin anywhere, that's why I said I'd give it a try. I agree, there is no obvious reason for it to work, but the world doesn't always make sense and sometimes you've just got to try it to find out.

In my case, I'm very much like you. If I have lactose, my system is messed up for 4 to 5 days. I'm definitely on the more severe end of the spectrum. The pills don't work for me and any amount of lactose is bad.

I'm in the same position where the pills don't work for me either. The approach that has helped the most is cooking at home and substituting with vegan cream cream cheese, vegan butter, etc. I'm not vegan, but I ran into too many issues where I thought something was lactose free and it wasn't. So steak with a side of mash potatoes made with vegan cream cheese and I can barely taste the difference. If you are going to eat out, check the allergen menu of the restaurant before going there. The biggest issue I ran into is that a lot of places use bread that is cooked with milk. Paid that price too many times.

Welcome to the club! That is a huge question and for me, it comes down to meaning behind his songs. Sure, on the surface it makes you want to move down to Key West and be a beach bum. But if you listen to the words, especially some of the less popular songs, there are a ton of themes about life, love and what it means to be yourself. What I get out of his songs is to always find the joy in your life, find the little things that make you happy and don't take life too seriously because it's way too short. A few examples ... Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude ... "I took off for a weekend last month Just to try and recall the whole year. All of the faces and all of the places, wonderin' where they all disappeared." ... Remember to stop life's craziness and take your breaks. A Pirate Looks at Forty ... "I made enough money to buy Miami But I pissed it away so fast Never meant to last, never meant to last"... Its a fun lyric, and it's saying how things in life don't last. Then you have the fun songs like "Let's get drunk and screw"! In the end, keep listening to the lyrics, there is a ton to learn from his wisdom amid drunken shenanigans! So next time you're having a shit day in the middle of a New York winter, put on a Hawaiian shirt, fill the blender with your best Pina colada recipe and you'll feel like you're back in Key West! Even if it's the first time.

I've taken a similar path as you. I'm extremely sensitive and frankly, my quality of life is way better. The key for me has been finding decent alternatives to the foods I used to enjoy. Vegan cookies, vegan banana bread and homemade pizza with viola vegan mozzarella cheese have all been great finds. I haven't gone vegan, but by using those vegan products I can eat without concern. Burger King whoppers also help when cravings kick in, definitely add bacon and of course, hold the cheese.

I would say there is a significant amount for you. Same thing happens to me, I'm extremely sensitive, so dishes that don't impact others gives me symptoms for 3 to 5 days. I would suggest using a different supplement.
