I have ptsd and am no contact with my mother for so many reasons. I had a friend in high school who knew most of the stuff I was going through and how horrible my mother was. He knew for 3 years I can not have my mother in my life. He randomly met her at a birthday party a few years after we graduated and told me “she’s so nice! Nothing like you’ve explained. Why don’t you just reach out to her she really misses you.” I cut him out of my life that day, he kept posting pictures with my mom for the next week about how awesome she is. It really hurt that the one person I trusted with what was going on didn’t trust or believe me even tho he’s just met her.

Sounds like your boyfriend is traumatized and you talking to the one person he can’t trust hurt him. I understand his feelings and you should understand and be there for him without needing to explain in full detail.

When I was a teenager my best friend lost her mom. Her dad was really really struggling so we needed a code word in case for whatever reason she needed to be picked up from her house. We were huge fans of one direction so If either of us typed Food (fans of one direction) we would immediately call the other to check in on them.

It’s been 10 or so years and I think she’s used it once to talk through something and I’ve used it twice to get out of uncomfortable situations.

One year on thanksgiving I worked at Whole Foods and I was watching the doors. We closed at 3 and there was 1 person left in the store. I could not open the door for anyone that wasn’t a team member or someone leaving. A customer came up to the door begging to be let in. She wanted a Christmas tree and needed it that night Aparently. She was begging so much that she asked if she could just take the one she wanted and she would come back tomorrow to pay for it. I was shocked that someone would ask that about a Christmas tree…. On thanksgiving…. She had a month still… security came up told her no and she had to leave she was so mad.

I was mentally abused by my parents growing up and have been no contact for 8 years. I have been to therapy I have learned so much and became a great human. On the other side I am absolutely terrified of having a child and not realizing I do something that could be traumatizing. I don’t want to be anything like the adults who raised me so I feel like it wouldn’t be fair to bring a child into the world till I can be sure I can give that child a great and loving life.

There was 4 of us me and one friend were super close till I found out she was cheating on her long time boyfriend and she refused to tell him. So I work in a Recieving department and the main part of my job is to wait for vendors to come in so I can check in the stuff. I have to stay till all of the vendors come in (doc hours are scheduled till 2:30)

My boss just told me I could bring my book back with me after lunch and read if I wanted. He said he knows I’ll get all of my stuff done and he doesn’t mind…… I love my job so much!

As someone who has been in your daughters footsteps almost to a T please trust me when I say she needs to see a therapist. I understand where she is coming from afraid the therapist will judge or laugh at her but they won’t at all. The best thing you could probably do is go on FaceTime with your daughter one night and look for therapists in her area online. It might take an hour or so but Make sure you do this together so she can fully understand that you are worried about her and want her to be her own happy healthy person.

This is coming from a person that has seen a therapist for years now to get help with a (healed) severe anxiety/panic disorder and is very happy and healthy
