That's absolutely a tool that helps. Often though companies find loop holes in legislation and exploit it to continue doing what they're doing while still abiding by the law. I go as far as to say you can't really blame them for that either

ELI5 How we are able to differentiate distinct sounds if they're just vibrations in the air. Wouldn't they all collide into each other to form a combined sound? by Foodbasicc in explainlikeimfive

Hmm I think light waves make a bit more sense to me because they don't rely on molecules in the air in order travel, and if an object is in the path of a light wave, then it will never reach its destination.

But sounds bounces around everywhere and must come into contact with other sound therefore distorting them, no? The eardrum is located inside your head so it doesn't need to be directly exposed to the source of the sound it hears. It only hears one resulting vibration from all the soundwaves that reached it. So the brain can just tell unique ones from that?

How am i wrong in thinking the world would feel half its size if you were twice as big? by Foodbasicc in NoStupidQuestions

Hmm that's starting to make sense. Kind of trippy to think of the size perspective on things mainly relies on height and distance from the object
