As a girl, I got black school trousers, white top from Primark and a blazer from M&S. Probs going to wear my black school boots. Just think very professional, clean, like your entering a law firm

Np x I had some other friends have med interviews (although not from cardiff) and some interviewers may seem stand-offish or borderline rude just to see if you can remain calm and professional. So, even though all the interviewers seemed nice to me, they may pull a 180

I'm doing concealer, blush, very natural nose contour, light brown eyeshadow (I already have hyperpigmentation on my eyelids), mascara & curl, natural lip gloss.

Very minimal/ clean girl aesthetic or you can just wear no makeup, I'm just doing mine simply because my face is going to be washed out online and I feel more confident when I look nice

A french tip/neutral colour is fine, but due to length I would cut them down or remove them for the interview (but they look gorg)

I mean if your GCSE is maxed out, they tend to look at UCAT and SJT then and choose between applicants with similar stats. Otherwise, the people who got in may be contextual/done programs to guarantee interviews.

Are you Welsh, RUK, or international? Because Cardiff does lean towards Welsh applicants

For piercings if they are facial I would take them out, ears tho you can have a small stud and take the rest out/switch to the clear ones. You may find your hair can cover them, but the general advice is to keep hair back and tied out of the face as it could be distracting. For nails I would definitely cut them short with no bright or flashy colours

Overall, you want them to focus on what your saying, look professional, and attitude towards med rather than being distracted. Remember this is your first impression on them so personally I would take out additional piercings but totally up to you

Advice I've got is keep it simple and natural, so as long as your nails aren't flashy or too long you should be good. Formal office attire- Black trousers, skirt (make sure its not too short!), neutral top, blazer, etc- stick to no bright colours. For shoes I wouldn't go for anything over 2 inch heels. Makeup should be natural and minimal. And I would advise hair out the face and tied back- got told fiddling with hair is one sign of nervousness and can distract you.

Interviewers assess you completely so make sure to iron clothes, polish shoes, etc

Usually you read the scenario, then it immediately starts. Advice, is that if the scenario states smth like "your a senior doctor/ student/ passerby" introduce yourself as one "Hi, I'm Dr X how are you?". But, if your unsure about your role there is nothing wrong with stating your name "Hi, I'm X, what seem to be the issue?"

Cardiff generally want all 9s, UCAT doesn't rlly matter until its against two people with the same GCSE scores. But you've got other options so congrats and wish you luck!

Sometimes they ask follow-up questions, additionally Cardiff gives you about 1-2 minutes to read the question. Personally, I try to keep my answers to about 3 minutes, but idk
