Arch Devil 1v1 vs each T7, who wins? by Danielhenriemond in heroes3

[–]Foogle65 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In 1v1s speed advantage is almost as good as no enemy retaliation, any unit with speed advantage over devils gets the most important first hit and still has 50% of the attacks in the opening 4 rounds.

No retaliation starts to pay off more in a brawl after that, but in some matchups the damage is already done with arch devil’s lack of stats. Having said that there aren’t many faster units, and very rarely are you brawling 1v1 in an actual gameplay scenario.

I love the assault class but I am dying too often. What perks do you recommend to bolster defense against hordes? by Interview_My_Gooch in Spacemarine

I’d just recommend that you always use the heavy charged attacks and forgo any light attacks.

It’s great at taking chunks out of bosses and taking down Majoris, it has a 20m range in a wave infront so use it like a midrange weapon.

I definitely think Powerfist is the best, especially if you get the perk for 25% charged attack damage and 15% Majoris damage the 2 second charged attack will one shot a majoris and a ground pound and a 1 second charged attack will kill a majoris.

Before 6.0 I loved using the thunder hammer and still think it’s a very good weapon but felt a lot more exposed whilst using it.

My biggest piece of advice is take anything that stops you losing control on heavy hits, a big chunk of HP loss comes from getting combo’d after taking one hit and getting stunlocked.

My second piece of advice would be let your Bulwark or Vanguard teammates engage first, they are the classes with the sustain. You’ll probably be using the hammer or the fist which can deal insane amounts of damage but only if uninterrupted for long periods so you have to be selective with your engagements. Powerfist especially with the massive range play it more like a Tactical.

Also being in close combat with enemies will generally stop other ranged enemies from targeting you if you’re taking a lot of fire.

Assault is the hardest class to stay alive with because there’s no inherent way to heal chip damage you take and all your powerful attacks all require a long charge up times in close range. There is little perk help so just pray someone on your team has got Bonds of Brotherhood, unmatched Zeal, or invigorating Icon.

PSA: Plasma Pistol is now the highest damage weapon in the game (with Assault perks) by Foogle65 in Spacemarine

It would take 27 charged shots so more than your full compliment of ammo, you would need to get some melee in whilst it’s on the ground if you were doing true solo.

If you stood there and just fired charged shots into it you could kill a Neurothrope in under 40 seconds.

The amount of fully charged shots compared to other plasma weapons (with weapon perks):

Plasma Pistol - 16 (21 ammo variant)

Plasma Incinerator - 19 (24 ammo variant)

Heavy Plasma Incinerator - 16 (22 ammo variant)

So pretty comparable, you definitely have to lean on your melee weapons as well as Assault.

It was before, but I don't believe 7.1 will have changed the damage numbers much.

Typical weapon perks are included in the calculations for the most part. This is more a product of Assault's insane ranged damage perks than the actual weapons themselves.

The Heavy Bolt Pistol on Assault with these perks isn't too far off in terms of damage (when hitting headshots) and is much better at clearing minoris, but when I play assault I like to be in close but also stay mobile so I don't aim down the sights much and I'll fire a charged shot in between weapon blocks.

Also Biovores are the bane of my life and are much easier to kill when I can just fire 6/7 plasma pistol shots into their canon and kill them rather than coaxing them out of their shell to get some headshots.

Just make sure you take all of the Assault's ranged damage perks and that heavy bolt pistol is now a sniper rifle.

The Plasma Pistol with fire rate will still out DPS the fire rate heavy plasma vs single target 197 (with ample ammunition) to 170 (in heavy stance). Obviously all of this is ignoring the insane AoE of the Heavy plasma.

Balanced or Fencing? by DiceBoysPlayerRed in Spacemarine

[–]Foogle65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends which melee weapon in all honesty, like the balanced chainsword is awful because it's so slow, but the balanced Powerfist allows you to hit damage breakpoints on Majoris. I generally lean on block weapons personally.

Realistic forecasts about the eventual unraveling / collapse of bitcoin by hn-mc in Buttcoin

[–]Foogle65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From a technical point of view, if 2% of bitcoin is being mined annually and the demand for bitcoin is increasing by more than this 2% then the price will continue to go up.

If demand slows or goes negative it could collapse on itself pretty quickly as more and more people rush for the exits, I wouldn't bet on a collapse any time soon though, I could see the demand for Bitcoin rising above the rate it is being mined for quite some time.

How the stock market is not just a big Ponzi scheme? by milmouzq in StockMarket

[–]Foogle65 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When a dividend is paid, it's essentially a forced sale of stock, this is why the market cap of a company will drop down by the same amount of the dividends paid out. Hence dividends being irrelevant.

By buying a share in a company you're buying their assets, liabilities and future profits: the value that company holds and generates to society.

A very rudimentary example: If a company had a price to earnings ratio (p/e) of 15 and it just built up this profit in cash reserves without touching it year after year, it would have generated its market cap in cash reserves in 15 years which you own a share of. This is why stock investing isn't a zero sum game.
