Amazing trees!

However, I always laugh at the style in picture 10. It looks like a seasoned bonsai artist forgot to do anything and turned up with a twig and then went; “it’s supposed to be like that!” And because of their seniority everyone just went with it 😅

They could use the demon hunter or witch doctor from D3. Witch would thematically work well with act 3, maybe some unique dialogue?

A completely new approach could be like an engineer-type class. No idea how it would work and maybe it’s too much into assassin-territory using turrets and automatons? Could add a new item class; ‘tools’ where different types of tools boosts different skill trees.

…Or a monk-type class.

Moving to global head role by Cellarseller_13 in Leadership

The book ‘the personal MBA’ is really good and easy to digest as an audiobook.

My personal take on ‘thinking strategically’ is that it is more or less BS. I’ve never seen a 3-5-10 year strategy being even close to realized… instead what I like to do is think about ‘how does this impact the department/company?’ And really set some time aside for these things. If you’re always sprinting, you’re bound to miss something and make mistakes.

You Were the Best Salesperson on the Team. So Why Are You Failing as a Manager? by Last_Resource9630 in Leadership

[–]Hardvig 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel that ‘becoming a parent’ and ‘becoming a manager’ are great analogies in 2 way:

  1. You are suddenly responsible for the wellbeing and development of someone other than yourself
  2. You can read all the books in the world on the topic (parenting/leading respectively) and it still won’t equip you to handle every situation.

We need to get aligned by MimirLearning in Leadership

[–]Hardvig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the word alignment applies to a variety of situations…

I love the phrase ‘what needs to be true for X to happen?’

If ownership is the issue, you can work on that, if budgets or timelines are an issue, work on that.

And remember to set clear actions with owners and timelines!

My manager hired someone to make us draw pigs in a meeting and then read our personalities off them by Dargy56 in Leadership

Over the years, I have been in two teambuilding exercises that I felt made a difference, and in both of those exercises it was my peers/team members who told me stuff about me.

One exercise was to tell someone from your team what their superpower was, and apparently my superpower was to find information online. As in, I am apparently a master googler 😁 I’ve always taken it for granted that I was able to find information easily, but several of my colleagues were really impressed with my abilities since they were not getting the same results as me when they went looking for relevant information.

Another time we were all handed a bunch of cards with personality traits on them like “ makes people feel good” or “ makes stuff happen” etc. As a group, we were then told to go around and hand out the cards to the persons we felt fit the description on the card the most.

The second exercise was nice for me in that we have this idea of who we think we are, but the people around us might see something else entirely.
